The Route to Freedom The American culture has been dominated by the idea of freedom and liberty. America is considered the land of free where people can practice their own religions, traditions, and cultures, knowing that there is no unjust treatment or oppression towards people. Fundamentally, America’s freedom began with the hard work of the Continental Congress when The Declaration of Independence was crafted by Thomas Jefferson. Nevertheless, The Declaration of Independence did not grant liberty to all citizens and that is why Elizabeth Cady Stanton crafted the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions in order to give rights to women.
Patriot Pen Freedom is the power/right to act speak or think as one wants to without restraint or hindrance. How did the us gain its freedom well in 1776 july 4 The continental congress adopted the declaration of independence which declares that we were free from great britain. Very few americans had military experience there was no method for training supplying or paying the army. The americans did surprise attacks on the british brutal sniper fire and returning to boston from concord.
It took dedication, hardship, and the lives of many to gain our independence. Liberty gives us equal rights and the capability to have the same potential
It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened … It ought to to be possible, in short, for every American to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard to his race or his color.” —John F.
Why do most stories have characters with similar traits? Most novels or any type of story, they have different archetypal characters. In the novel “The Hobbit” by J.R.R Tolkien the three characters Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the wizard, and Smaug the destroyer, they are all archetypal characters. Throughout the story Bilbo goes on an adventure to defeat smaug. Bilbo eventually defeats smaug and returns what he finds.
Liberty has the definition of the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views. This means the right to be free in a country. America had trouble with finding how liberty can be a part of the country. The fight for liberty was difficult to obtain because America had the break from Great Britain, needed to build a country from scratch, and come together as a country. America was not always a free country.
America is a country of great diversity, but many people are not treated fairly, and have not been for years. Even to this day many Americans black and white are discriminated for their skin color or beliefs. This is a problem that has been going on for many centuries, and it is still apparent that to this day civil liberties from the past are still not resolved. Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King Jr., and Frederick Douglass were all black rights activists, and in their lifetimes they affected many people black and white, yet the civil liberties from the past are still yet to be resolved.
“Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice. suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals” (Martin Luther King, Jr.). Based on the Constitution, equality has the possibility of being achieved because amendments can be placed in order to get closer to it. Also the Constitution has shown no discrimination to a certain group of people, and instead has tried to push the idea of equality to the next level. Although people, in the past, have been through many harsh events, the Constitution has always made a way to repair its mistakes.
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
Freedom- what does it mean? Freedom’s definition can differ depending on the culture you ask. Over the course of American history, there have been many influential documents that define what American freedom means. None, however, have been quite as compelling as the Preamble to the Constitution. This piece brings Americans together while showing the values that Americans hold near and dear; in short, it shows what it means to be “American.”
The Patriots and the Revolutionary War are the roots of freedom. Beforehand, we were controlled by Britain as fairly
We don 't typically stop to think about our freedom, it is something most of us are guilty of taking for granted. Even when our freedom is brought to our attention, it is only a brief thought quickly pushed to the back of our minds. Most of us are too focused on our own hardships and shortcomings. However, there are a select few who have come to the realization that this freedom is a highly valued prize. These are the people that fight our battles for us because they value the safe haven that our country is.
Freedom lives and breathes in everything we as Americans do. The freedom we have today reminds me of where freedom does not exist yet. There are many countries where the citizens have heard about our freedom, but cannot experience it for themselves. We can only hope for those people right now, and dream of a world that’s free.
A question that most Americans ask is “Are we really free?’ and people respond with multiple different answers such as yes, no, and “we used to be”. This answer always varies on the type of person you ask because everyone has they different meaning of the word “Free”. Freedom means “not under the control or in the power of another”. Freedom was a gift given to America from the forefathers’ victory against the British.
Freedom is something that should be given and not earned yet many struggle just to preserve their
