The works of art I chose to compare and contrast are Memento Mori, "To This Favour", 1879 by William Michael Harnett, and Bull Skull, Fruit, Pitcher, 1939 by Pablo Picasso. The symbolism behind these two paintings are very similar. There are also some similarities in the composition of these two paintings, but there are many differences in the composition of these two paintings. What I am going to compare and differentiate are types of art within the Prehistoric time period, and the Roman time period. The Orlando Museum of Art, also known as OMA, is a hub of Central Florida when it comes to pulling in remarkable works of art for the public eye to pay patronage to. Today I visited such a place for the annual Antiques Vintage and Garden Show, which took place between February 19th through the 21st. Included in the price of a ticket was also admission to The OMA’s current exhibitions, which included Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers and their other running exhibits, which contained an array of work, ranging from Pre-Columbian sculptures to more contemporary works of the 21st century. Since the first human set off to discover the unknown, they have used us to help the people they left behind find their way.
Ever since the emergence of mankind, humans have always prioritized their search for food and water. Even today the need for sustenance is still prominent; however, methods for producing it have evolved over time. The Paleolithic people went about scavenging, hunting, fishing, and gathering on their quest for food. The Neolithic Revolution marked a transition from such practices into the “cultivations of crops and the domestication of animals.” (Strayer, pg.12) Even after thousands of years, although techniques have changed, the basic concept of agricultural cultivation has still remained similar.
There were many similarities and differences between the Paleolithic and Neolithic age. The Paleolithic age, also known as the stone age, is known to have the earliest humans, who were nomadic.
