VIDHYA SUNIL Introduction: My experiment is about investigating the absorption ability of two types of paper towels in the water, there are many brands of paper towels available , each claiming to be the best , how do we prove or disprove these claims ? Paper towels are very useful when it comes to cleaning , in addition paper towels are used to dry your hands and wipe tables , so we must know which good brand we must use. The less amount of water absorbed by the tissue the better. My experiment will be done at home , I’ll bring simple relevant things like two different paper towel brands , one glass, water , stop watch , and a ruler. In every experiment there are main variables that must be included like the dependent variable , independent variable , and fixed variable. The Independent variable in this experiment is the: thickness of the towel paper. • Dependent variable: amount of water absorbed • Fixed variable: water amount , temperature , time. This experiment ‘s data will be measured and collected according to the experiment’s results. The result of the water absorbed by both thick and light paper towel will be shown in a table. 1- First I added 200ml amount of water in the glass 2- Placed the thick tissue (selpack brand) in the water for 20 seconds 3- placed a ruler to know how much meters did the thick tissue (selpack brand) absorbed water and it was approximately 8 …show more content…

After doing the experiment I think that light paper towels are better than the thick ones because they pick up the most liquid mess with fewest sheets which will save the environment. I found out that Fine brand is unique kind of paper towels; it was soft and quickly absorbing the water. The thing that I didn’t find good in Fine brand is that it’s so weak and can tear off quickly while in
