I.1 Background of Study
As neighboring countries that geographically located close, yet have much different characteristics, Australia and Indonesia are well known have close enough relationships with its dynamics. Australia - Indonesia relationship also has been described as a rollercoaster, means that the relationship is enjoying smooth sailing for the time being, yet there are likely to be issues in the future. The other words, in one side, bilateral relations between Australia and Indonesia promising great chance to cooperation, but somehow there are a lot of obstacles. However, despite its ups and downs, it makes bilateral ties of both countries still quite strong that trigger to stick on their interest priority to embody a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region.

Hence, in the beginning of 1950, the relations officially continued with the appointment of Dr. Oesman Sastroamidjojo as a Charge d'Affaires Ad Interime in Canberra. Moreover, the boom years of 1990s, it is such a great years and new hope for bilateral relations between Australia and Indonesia where a time of economic growth comes, as it was the first big step of Australian investment into Indonesia which brings a significant growth on the partnership.
