Should or Should not Many people beleive this book should be banned. The Absolutly True Diary of a Part Time Indian, writen by Sherman Alexie, main plot is on a small resivation and a small white school. As the story goes on many of the topic go away but there is still a presence of them. People are trying to get this book banned due to the innapropiate topic used in this book. Most people dont read this book and just make up thing that this book should be banned for. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part- Time Indian should be banned becase of the use of race, sex, and alcahol. Many people want to ban this book due to the use of race in the book. Many of the white kid that go to school with Arnold make racis comment about him being indian. “Did you know that the indian are living proof that niggers fuck buffalo!’’ (Alexie 64). In the book Arnold walks in to his parents room and his dad gives him a 5 dollar bill for christmas. “ Drunk for a week, my father must of have really wanted to spend those last five dollars. Shoot, you could buy a bottle of the worst wiskey for five dollars” (Alexie 151). This quote shows that his family struggle that his dad is a drunk. There many of way that showes that.
