The Trial of Ricky Bobby Smith On an undetermined date a robbery of a local gas station occurred leaving one victim, Sallie Mae Rickets. Sallie was unharmed but was severely traumatized by the incident, Sallie Mae was however able to give a description to the local Law Enforcement Agency. Based upon the description of the assailant and recovered evidence at the scene, Law Enforcement Officials were able to make an arrest. The man charged in the crime was Ricky Bobby Smith who fit the description and was positively identified by Sally Mae Rickets.

In the beginning no one knows who did what and who was where? It is hard to recall a day that happened months ago.
This supplement is a record of my actions in this investigation on cases 15-175694 and 15-176587. On November 16, 2015, 2015, I was assigned a third case involving Michelle Paola Vasquez Cruz. Michelle is a thirteen year old George Washington School student. I contacted Mr. Augustin Vasquez (father) who reported his daughter had been gone for six days and has yet to return home. I agreed to follow up with Mr. Vasquez at home later in the morning.
The youth is enrolled in school, however, has never attended a day. On 01/17/2014 MA PO met with father who reported that on Saturday, 01/14/2017, Tailina physically assaulted Mr. Roman. Father reported that the minor ran away that day and is nowhere to be found. Tailina ran out of the home when she was informed that Mr. Roman called the Springfield PD and was reporting the assault. Father filed a missing person report on 01/18/2017.

The charts above show the disparity in sentencing between the general public and law enforcement. Despite officers being convicted on charges sometimes more severe than the general public, for instance a police officer killing on duty and a non violent offender being charged with selling drugs, officers spent 29% less time in jail on average then the people in which they have sworn to protect and serve (Packman, 2011). This disparity rises when only cases of excessive force are viewed. Of the 2,716 officers who had allegations brought upon them for the use of excessive force, a mere 17 were ever charged with a crime and only 77 being convicted.
Evidence based prosecution is when offenders can be held accountable for their actions even without a victim's testimony or cooperation. The evidence of the prosecution is based on medical records, medical examinations, photographs, the 911 tape and things that are found on the victim's and offender's body. Evidence based prosecution is extremely important in domestic violence cases because it serves justice without having them testify against the offender face to face. However, with public outcry and standards that were put in place, police officers have now shifted the techniques they use during interrogation.
With me being a criminal justice major, being discreet is a must in certain police situations. The police, attorney, court of law , and corrections all have instances such as deciding lesser differences in matters such as an everyday pull over for the police, whether to take a case or not for attorneys, whether to break the law or not for citizens, and for judges how long of a sentence should be handed down. Many decisions a police make is at his or her own discretion. Police have a wide range of discretion in their multiple daily duties. Discretion can be seen when an officer decides whether to pull a car over, question some people walking, write a ticket or make an arrest.
The development of technology has increased dramatically, now with many technologies in law enforcement, they have progressively taken advantage of the growing industry to better prevent or help crime. Technology in law enforcement offers the potential of everlasting support that will benefit the United states forever; technology has shaped and advanced law enforcement. I do not believe that anyone would disagree or deny that technology has aided in helping solve, prevent, and decrease crimes. Technology plays a major impactful role in law enforcement: offering police many useful methods for combating criminal activity, with such tools such as biometric, body worn cameras, digital evidence and forensic, crime mapping, less lethal technologies,
