My ideology on the importance of ethics consist of a pastoral or Christian engaging in the practices of rectitude, virtue, humility, respect, and self-awarness. The necessity of moral rectitude in itself is an incentive. The pastoral counselors must possess the characteristics of being trust-worthy. And the extinction to achieve the goal of becoming righteous is building upon the principles of being faithful to God by keeping each client(s) personal business to one's self. The counselors must be professionally ethical. Each respective counselors have a responsibility to protect his or her client(s) confidential information. There are exceptions, such as if the client threatens to endanger themselves or inflict harm upon others, incorporating the counselor. The counselors must inform the client of his or her rights before each sessions begin. The noble counselor is the individual who God's respects the most. Each pastoral must cooperate with association procedures for responding to complaints of ethical misconduct, in participate of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors Code of Ethic, adjudication proceedings, and abide by any AAPC disciplinary sanctions or rulings. Each member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors must be committed to a variety of different theologies ideologies, value, and traditions.
