Elegant and charming, an 18th-century painting shows a young woman who gazes straight in front of her and holds a basket of fruits on a rural background. However, the model is different from the traditional upper-class portrait painting because she is a black slave woman. 18th-century portrait painting 's goal was to illustrate a human subject for public and private persons, or the inspiration by admiration or affection for the person. It was often necessary to state and record the family as primarily commemorating the rich and powerful historically class in portrait paintings.
The Renaissance time period improved and added many new styles of art for others to use. “The clearest evidence of the break with medieval culture comes from the visual arts. the new artistic styles echo the broader movement and interests of the new age” (Document A). This shows that the Renaissance time period was when art was starting to become more popular and influential towards other people. As a result, many other people in the years past the Renaissance time have tried to emulate those paintings and artwork.
Paul Revere was a Bostonian silversmith, an industrialist and a patriot in the American Revolution. He is a notable example of an ordinary man who became politically involved and risked everything to save his world. Revere contributed the famous depiction of the Boston “Bloody” Massacre, he aided in the Boston Tea Party, and finally led the Midnight Ride to warn the Patriots that the Red Coats were coming. The puritan rhetoric and conception of love does not in any way match with the normal human way of perceiving love. John Winthrop explains it as it is written in the holy Bible, and also expounds it by the use of his knowledge. His explanation out of the Bible are not however as complicated as those of ordinary people, who believe that love is expensive and one has to buy it from a friend. Winthrop convinces the Christians on the simplicity of love, and later brings them to understand that loving one another is the greatest commandment which has a reward at the end. Unlike the rest of the people who are non believers, Winthrop touches on the aspects of love by quoting different verses from the bible.

Industrialization spread throughout the north and America’s profit grew. Cotton gin, railroads, erie canal, and the power loom were all inventions and progress made that did a lot of good for America, but the bad overrides the good this progress accomplished. As slaves were used to create and handle most of the machines and work. Historians mislabeled the 1800 as the “Era of Good Feeling” because of the use of slaves, sectionalism and the work conditions.

Thomas Paine shows the horror and tragedy that numerous amounts of colonists went through during the Revolutionary War. Many laws and taxes on colonists such as Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and an abundant amount of other laws that took money from the colonist and they were raving. During this time, Thomas Paine was furious with British rules and was most likely trying to convince and encourage colonists to fight. Thomas Paine was persuading the colonists to fight back from the laws and taxes that made their lives a struggle and they fought and fought. Thomas Paine was an influential writer during the American Revolution, his pamphlet, “Common Sense” and his other writings had influenced many colonists.
The eve of the American Revolution was filled with discontent between the British and the colonists. Extraneous taxes, unfair trade laws and trials left the colonists dissatisfied with British rule. This disrupted the order of society by increasing smuggling, encouraging people to violate tax collectors and suchlike. The intensifying tension amongst the two sides presented a very important question: should there be a war or should these issues be solved in a peaceful manner? As a result, influential members of society during the pre-revolutionary era possessed conflicting ideologies on whether or not war was the solution for the problems that divided the British and the colonists.
