She particularly addresses all people of New Zealand, although her findings and opinions address international concerns with the gender wage gap. Cribb does so through her use of personal anecdote, which may contain elements of bias. However, she introduces statistics, which add appeals to logic. With these elements, she not only blames the pay gap on discrimination, but proposes solutions as well, such as confronting higher-ups and calling out large businesses to set examples. The article, authored for all audiences in the United States, claims the reasons for the pay gap include discrimination against mothers due to their need for time off, lack of negotiation skills in women, and deeply-rooted stereotypes. Farber uses both statistics and logical reason to explain the reasoning behind the issue, but introduces her own opinions on how the reasons can be eliminated (having some bias). These solutions include increasing access to affordable child care, having women take negotiation classes, and counteracting acts of discrimination. The article has close ties with the National Committee on Pay Equity’s “Top 10 Reasons for the Wage Gap”, which also lists maternity leave and subtle discrimination against women as reasons for the gender pay
