Imagine that you were part of an advertisement company and you must figure out how to best persuade the people watching your commercial to buy your product. What kind of techniques would you use? There are arguably many different types of techniques that advertisers use in commercials to try to persuade people to get their products. The commercials that I chose for this paper were the Peeps brand commercial called Brothers and the Coca Cola brand commercial called Brotherly Love. In the Peeps commercial, there are two brothers who wake up one Easter to finding Peeps candy in their living room. Throughout the commercial it shows the two brothers doing various activities together like Easter egg hunting, going to church, etc. The oldest of the two is commenting on various things they can make with the Peeps and this is significant because it shows people that they can do many things with the candy. In the Coca Cola commercial it shows the story of two brothers. The way that the backgrounds are it makes it feel like the commercial is more in a modern timeframe. They also make a point to incorporate red in each of the scenes which is what people associate Coca Cola with. This is a smart tactic that has people unconsciously thinking about the soda while watching the commercial. Another thing smart thing they did was they included different types of Coke products in some of the scenes. This helped to promote the product because the soda became one of the main focuses in certain scenes. I believe that this commercial was more successful at incorporating aspects of imagery than the Peeps commercial because it had better examples of imagery in
