The University of Pennsylvania is an ideal place for me to pursue and explore my intellectual and academic interests. I hope to study at the Wharton School of Business majoring in legal studies and business ethics. I am interested in the courses, programs, and opportunities that the Wharton School has to offer. My cousin Christie is currently a nursing student at Penn and has shared many highlights and exciting experiences with me. She encouraged me to apply last February to Wharton’s summer pre- college program. I was accepted into this unique, intensive program, which secured my interest and passion for this school. Through the Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) residential program at Wharton, I met some of the most amazing Wharton faculty, staff, and students; I felt so comfortable on campus being a part of this college community. Moreover, I was very fortunate to meet peers who shared the same interests as me, current students who shared their personal experiences of what it would be like being a Wharton college student, and professors who inspired me. Additionally, I enjoyed being surrounded by people who sparked my curiosity and growth challenging me intellectually beyond what I have ever imagined. Susan Brake. I have always had difficulties with public speaking, which has hindered my ability as a leader. In this two-hour course, Ms. Brake made me feel at ease when speaking in front of an audience. I now use what I learned from this course when representing my high school class at various school events and even volunteer in my media production class announcing the school’s weekly public news
