“Aren’t you afraid of my darkness, my dear?” Hades asked with mischief in his eyes. “No,” Persephone replied, “you haven’t even seen mine yet.” Persephone is the daughter of Demeter; the Goddess of agriculture and the daughter of Zeus; the Chief God. Hades abducted Persephone into the underworld. Persephone’s mom was in misery. Persephone ate a handful of Hades pomegranate seeds in the underworld. She had to stay one-third of the year with her husband Hades and the other two-thirds with her mom during spring and summer. Persephone is an interesting goddess because she is the Goddess of spring, the underworld, and also the Goddess of passion.
