I never thought I’d play ball after high school. To be honest I thought I wasn’t going to play after my freshman year. My freshman year at practice my coach had the guts to tell me I would never make the varsity team as long as he the coach. I thought to myself like why would a coach ever say that. He said that because we had a cut off relay race and our team already lost so I jogged down the line instead of sprinting. I thought that since our team already lost might as well save energy because I know we are going to run for losing the race. Well as I was jogging back all I hear is screaming. Course I was a freshman so I’m not going to talk back. After he told me I would never make the varsity squad I decided I would prove him wrong. I worked hard, harder than everyone else. I threw a no hitter on the J.V. team the first game I pitched. The second game I pitched I threw a one hitter. The varsity coach called me the next day at school and told me that he would like me to come to the varsity practices, but I wasn’t on the team just yet. He just wanted me on the practice team. So the third game I pitched I threw a three hitter with ten strikeouts. The good thing about that game is that the varsity coach was there. From then on I proved my J.V. coach that I could and did make varsity my freshman year when he was the coach. Turns out the J.V. coach was a drunk. But ever since that year I always wanted to play baseball. I play for husson this year and was told I could be a potential starting
