Personal and Social Consequences A lack of education not only leads to personal catastrophe, it also leads to social and economic devastation. One a personal level, the repeat occurrences of generational educational failure overtime leads to poor quality of life, creates an inability to obtain good paying employment, which leads to poverty, which leads to the lack of mobility. On a social and economic level, concentrations of uneducated individuals with the inability of upward mobility, result is a community full of crime, drug use, poverty and unemployment, which leads to a poor tax base to support programs that provide assistance to low-income residents and students.
