THE SCARIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE On October 19, 2016, I was riding around in a car with my brother, Trase. We were listening to music and talking about some funny things while I was waiting for some friends to go to the park. Since everyone I had asked was busy, I decided to hangout with my brother instead. We were telling jokes, eating snacks we had bought after school, and just having a good time. We had the windows of the car down, the music turned up, driving to Stripes for slush monkey’s and candy. Then he ran into an old friend, Jamie Flores. He asked if we wanted to hangout so we said, sure. We were following him to his house but he needed to grab a few groceries. When Jamie was done we headed to his house. I had a minor hairline fracture in my left wrist and a pulled neck muscle. I was in a hand brace for nearly 8 weeks and could not participate in athletics for roughly 5½ weeks. Trase, however, was on crutches for almost a month and in a neck brace for about 2 weeks and did not play basketball the rest of that season which he was very upset about. 5 days later, which felt like 5 years, after the crash, Trase and I were released from the hospital, we came home and were a little drugged up on painkillers. I had plopped on my bed at home and almost immediately fell asleep from the Advils that I took. I was sore for a few weeks and still kinda freaked out. When I got back to school, people asked if I was okay or if I needed help with anything and I had gotten help with people carrying some stuff for my classes. It was horrible.
