Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to work in the pathology field. I thought I wanted to be a pathologist. I talked to the career counselors at my school and expressed my interest. Fortunately for me, I was contacted not much after about an internship at Montefiore Medical Center. I would come to learn that Montefiore Medical Center is the teaching hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
I am writing to apply for the Human Services Assistant position with Fairfax County DFS. With my previous experience in working with the public and managing multiple tasks at one time; having clear and concise oral and written communications skills; excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. I am positive that I am the person you are seeking to fill this position. I have a strong background in customer service and administration.

P.T.A Application Personal Essay “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” This is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi that I hold very close to my heart and my beliefs. I love helping others no matter how small or daunting the task. Seeing others benefit from my help is truly rewarding, and provides me with the ultimate feeling of success and happiness. In addition to my overwhelming passion for helping others, becoming further educated is something I believe to be crucial in living a accomplished life.
A small 5-year-old girl walking downstairs through the outside back door of her grandmother’s house in Mexico, sliding down each step of the staircase, set in the exterior connection between the two floors, just to be able to use the restroom on the first floor; a reminiscence that portrays commitment. Uniquely, this one experience defined my character. I’ve replayed this moment in my head many times through difficult times. I’ve had to face fear, anger, disappointment, and uncertainty all alone. Yet, I had never met any other person with whom I could identify with those same trademarks; until I became a medical assistant.
This will bring even more respect and heightened responsibility upon therapists, which will in turn improve and sharpen the practitioners in this field. In the physical therapy education there must be emphasis on diagnosing syndromes of human movement system, and certain programs have them already. I think this is important because it will make therapist more skilled and ready to diagnose patients rather than just treat another health care professional’s diagnosis. The new wave of students must learn this because there is a chance physical therapist may be allowed to do the diagnosis in the near future. Shirley A. Sahrmann wrote, “physical therapy’s identity as a professional will be enhanced when other health care professionals can identify or recognize our expertise.”
I have been at Udall since preschool. I currently play volleyball, run track, participate in organizations such as FCCLA, FBLA, SADD, NHS Treasurer, and Student Council President. I am employed at JAG Gymnastics in Andover, where I teach and help girls learn to do gymnastics. My sister and I had physical therapy when we were injured, and it helped us both significantly. I will be attending Cowley County Community College for my first two years, then transferring to Emporia State University to pursue my career as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Before leaving biology lab on December 6, I had the honor of interviewing the graduate assistant-teaching for biology 211 lab. During the interview I learned a lot of things about the teaching assistant like her background information and education. Her name is Lauren L and she is a graduate student at Iowa State University. Lauren has worked at Iowa State University for five semesters as a teaching assistant for biology 211 lab. She chose the teaching profession because she truly wants to teach and get some experience teaching undergraduates.
Shifting the focus, the current APTA vision statement became: “Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.” (APTA 2015) The brief 10-worded statement has three key points that draw a profound meaning in the physical therapy profession. Transforming society means shifting the focus of physical therapy to embrace cultural competence and adjusting to the patient’s needs.
During the summer, I had an eagerness to find a job; I wanted to keep myself occupied, so I applied everywhere, not concerning myself of the job description. I even applied for a janitorial positions; the thought of money was in my head. After applying to multiple jobs, I finally got accepted into American Swim Academy. I thought the job required a lifeguard, but little did I know, I had applied to be a swim instructor; I applied to a numerous job positions that I forgot what I applied for. They had assigned me classes with the skill levels of the child; I had to basically teach kids to swim.

Perhaps you want to go to school for a degree in the health field, but you're unsure whether you just graduated high school or have graduated high school a while ago and want to earn a degree in the health field. The first step I would highly recommend after you’ve chosen what school you wish to go to, is set up an appointment with an advisor, whom will be knowledgeable about what you need to do before you can hop into the program.
At all of these clinics and hospitals I have learned a variety of techniques, while completing the fundamentals of cleaning, organizing work area, securing patients with therapy equipment and motivating patients. Having to work under different physical therapists has shown me how to assist licensed physical therapists efficiently from their long hours of hard work.
