“OW!” That was the first thing that came out of my mouth after I stepped on the piece of glass. It all started when I decided to not wear shoes outside during the summer, I normally walk around without my shoes during the summer. It has always been that way. I don’t understand the point of wearing tennis shoes when it was like 90 degrees out. Sweaty feet don’t make sense. I was at my house when the incident happened. I was with my mom and my dad. [1]My parents were inside eating lunch. I had finished before them so I chose to go outside. Before I went outside my dad said,“Can you grab me a pair of pliers out of the barn?” So I ran outside and headed to the barn. [2]Since you never know what is going to be on the floor in the barn my dad had told me to wear shoes. I didn 't listen to him because it was hot and I didn’t feel like putting on a pair of shoes. It was only going to take like two minutes to get the pliers. On my way out of the barn I was walking near the truck which might have been the problem. I braced myself for the pain that was coming. The doctor pulled out a big pair of tweezers that looked like they should be used for a surgical procedure. It was painful but I made it through the whole thing without crying. It was done sooner than I had thought. He put a bandage on the wound and I got to go home. [3]Eventually, I was very grateful for the doctor who took out the glass so quickly. On the way home my parents got me a ice cream cone for being so brave and having the doctor just pull the glass out. I learned more than one lesson that day. First, even if I don’t like wearing shoes outside I should do it. Second, don’t have a injury numbed unless it is a big injury since it is just one more thing you have to deal with.
