Personal Narrative: Being Alone At Harrow Middle School

At Harrow Middle School, I sit alone at lunch eating my wonderful tasting peanut sandwich, with no jelly, of course. I have been getting used to sitting alone, but a couple friends would be nice, I mean it would be WONDERFUL to have some more friends. But don’t get me wrong, eating alone is pretty fun, too. I get to think about the ups and downs in my life without any distractions, which I didn’t get to do while I had “friends”.
But then Allison and Hailey walk towards me and Allison says, “Haha, you’re just sitting here with your dumb little sandwich, we have gourmet lunchables. They were being mean to another girl. I felt so bad for her. She was a new student named Megan. She was in a lot of my classes. I wanted to go up and stand up for Megan, but I didn’t have enough courage to. The next lunch, I saw it again. Allison and Hailey were being mean to her again. I took three bites out of my peanut butter sandwich and put it in my lunchbox. I then left all of my things on the ground and walked up to where Allison and Hailey were “talking” to Megan.
When I got there, Megan said, “Okay, if you guys are going to be mean to me, look at yourselves first. I don’t need you to bully me when I look better than you.”
They looked at me wanting me to help, I could tell that they were really embarrassed, but I didn’t cut them any slack. I said, “Yeah, you guys should stop making other people feel bad just because you think you can.”Allison and Hailey walked away in shock. “I’ve seen them bully people for seven years now, but not one person has stood up to the yet. Thank You.” And I walked away smiling because I didn’t ever think that anyone had the guts to stand up to the meanest people in the world. I left to get my things and came back to sit with Megan at lunch. Turns out, we both only like peanut butter in our sandwiches.
