Lydia and Lisa are currently attending their fifth overall session, which falls under the fourth working phase session. When evaluating Data for the DAP note, Lydia explained her thoughts on bullying. She expressed that bullying is mean and pointless because it hurts someone else. She didn’t understand why anyone would choose to bully someone else, especially when they cannot help what they are being bullied for. Lisa explained her thoughts on bullying. She expressed that bullies often are mean to others because someone else was mean to them, and they are hurting inside. There was no homework from the previous session. When evaluating Assessment for the DAP note, my understanding of the problem is Lydia has a personal conceptualization of bullying that is focused on the harm bullying causes to the victim. My working hypothesis is that if Lydia can expand her knowledge regarding bullying to include the negative effects bullying can have on the bully as well, she can transform her conceptualization of bullying, potentially reduce her likelihood of becoming a bully herself in the future, and work towards changing the reactionary behaviors she displays from her bullying experiences.
