It’s the end of the game, my team is down one, there are eight seconds and counting on the clock and the ball is in my hands. I search the stands to find the one person who has been there for me my entire life. Only he’s not there. It’s easy to get caught up in the game; not the game of basketball, but the dope game. It is a life few choose, but many find themselves in due to the harsh reality of job loss and depression.
On a cold and blustery November morning, I was walking around the Newberry farm searching for the perfect pumpkin. The farm owner, Mr. Johnson was welcoming and incredibly kind to allow me to wander wherever I wanted to on his farm. While walking, suddenly, I came upon the most perfectly shaped pumpkin. It was big and round and I knew it was Mr. Johnson’s best.
Then, she drove me to the hospital and got me immediately to the ER. In the ER they were rapping me like crazy because i wouldn 't stay still in the bed because i was so scared and i was in pain. Finally they got me all wrapped up and I was laying in the bed quite. I don 't remember what happened after that because I guess I went into surgery and could think of what happened after that.
I wake up from another one of my bad dreams and look over to see if Sodapop is still asleep. He’s gone. I decided to go see if Darry was home. He is gone too. I am completely alone and I just noticed that it is in the middle of the night.
“This is the Candy Castle,” Kassandra said, glancing worriedly at the sun. “We do not have time to tour it, but feel free to explore it tomorrow. Fun fact: anything you eat will regrow within in seconds of consumption. So you may eat any part of the castle that you want. About five miles west of the Candy Castle is another castle, modeled after a traditional French castle.
Me and one of my friends were getting ready for a huge day. We had this super awesome idea to go to Lagoon for the whole day. Opening to closing. We had packed lunches and everything. Right before we were about to leave my house to head to lagoon, my mom asked if she could talk to me.
Bubble Gum used to get haircuts and clothes. She was the neighborhood favorite. LOL. The kids used to love playing with her. Dogs surrounded us both sides of the house once again.
It was a cold November morning in the valley of Cowan, when I fired my first shot. It was a smooth and clean feeling after I pulled the trigger. I than saw the deer hunker as the slug hit its side, and it began to run away from us. Dad, knowing I had made a good shot, still decided to jump out of the blind window to end the animals suffering. Unfortunately, when his foot caught, it was all over from then.
Sugar Detox Results The 21-Day sugar has been growing in popularity recently. I had always been curious about trying it but hesitant of jumping on the wagon. I wasn’t quite sure if it was legitimate or a trend. Ever since I entered college, I lived a life of sitting in study halls and eating top ramen.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
One warm august night my sister Ellie and I watched the film Into the Wild. The story of Chris McCandless reconnecting with nature and going out on his own was profound to me. My mom was an avid hiker when she was younger and even climbed Mount Olympus, but as she’s gotten older and kids and life have taken over hiking hasn’t been much of priority. After the movie ended I told her I wanted to go on a short backpacking trip by myself before I had to go back to school and immediately my ten year old sister wanted to come with me. I agreed and we spent the next twenty four hours planning, packing and figuring out exactly where we were going.
It was a typical, eight o’clock morning in the August of 2007, birds chirping and the vibrant colors of flowers whipping past me as I peer out the window of our silver Nissan. My brother, sitting beside me, was being a noisy, older brother, uttering irrelevant comments about bypassing cars. On the other hand, my three year old self was quietly looking out the window and effortlessly perfecting my job of being a daddy’s little girl. In the driver’s seat, sat my father, a tall, patient, and affable individual. The three of us were in progress of completing our daily routine of driving to preschool.
Me and my family decided to go to San Antiano for a weekend. We went during the summer and it was a long ride. While we where there we went to the cavarners. We where all packing, my mom was in her 's and my dad 's room packing. I was helping and getting ready to leave.
My grandma sacrificed everything for my family and I. Being the lucky grandson I am I can tell my grandma about all my great adventures and achievements because she is still alive today at eighty-seven years old. My grandma is built solely on sweetness, there is no other way to describe her, when I was eight years old my family and I moved from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Madison, Wisconsin; my grandma was so afraid that she wouldn't be part of my siblings and I’s life that she dropped everything she had, left all her friends and moved to Madison with my family and I. When I think of my grandma short flashbacks will periodically pop into my head of going to the park or sleeping over at her house but every single time I will remember the times when we made chocolate cookies together or should I say cookie dough.
Like many others, the chocolate chip cookie brings back memories from my childhood. One of my favorites is running into my grandmother’s house after chasing my dogs around outside and being greeted by the warmth and aroma of freshly baked cookies in the oven. Even nowadays, when I enter her house, the sweet smell fills the air and I leave any bitterness, frustration, or sadness that I may have at the door. All across the Internet, there are many chocolate chip cookie recipes that claim to have perfected the art of this American classic. Some of them are pretty delicious to be perfectly honest, but none of them taste quite as heavenly as the ones that are made with my grandmother’s love.
