In middle school everyone used to call me “Murph” and by everyone I mean even the teachers, the students and the principal. It was no secret that I was the clumsiest and most awkward person at Quail Valley Middle School, so it was only natural for me to be nicknamed after Murphy’s Law. Being Murph was a constant reminder to me that things fail and most of the time you can’t help it. Throughout my entire life its been known that things always turn for the worst and keep going south. If anything can go wrong, it will. Aquatic science was an incredibly amusing class; however, everything that could possibly go wrong would quite often. Knowing me, I would have missed one day and would have fallen behind at least a month. The high school I went to, Clements, was very strict with the whole counting for the days you weren’t there. I happened to get sick exactly three weeks before finals with laryngitis. Thinking nothing of it I continued going to school, however it kept getting worse and worse. Finally I couldn’t speak at all and had no energy, making a final decision to stay home since I had one more day left that I could miss, or so I thought. To my utter surprise I came to school the next day much better and found out that that was my fifth absence and we could only have four to be exempt. After going over all the days I was counted for I came to find out that one of my student council trips counted against exemptions and now I had to take all my finals. Later in the same day I also found out that I wouldn’t be able to go on my navy junior reserve officer training corps senior trip that I helped plan for the part year. As if it couldn’t get any worse I remained sick up until halfway through finals week. A half-witted mistake led to a domino effect of things going wrong. Some people don’t believe that Murphy’s Law is an actual thing, however I firmly believe, due to experience, that since things can go wrong, they
