Boxing is the mega sport of the world, businesses build their brand based on it, and luckily for me, I have the grand privilege of doing it as a job. The beginning of my career was troublesome, I didn’t know how many years I’d have to do this, and well it’s going on 5 years now and I still love it as much as I ever did. There were times that I thought of throwing the towel in, but I’ve finally caught my big break against a big name boxer whose record is 49-0. “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, he’s out cold!” I gazed at the bright lights up in the arena as I lay there on the mat from how I went to potentially ending my opponent’s 49-0 record to being on the receiving end of an uppercut that would open a 2-inch scar on the top of my brow. …show more content…

I was going to start off in Los Angeles, then Toronto, after that Brooklyn, then get a day's rest and fly to London. My opponent and I were informed to promote the fight in every way possible, knowing that the fight was going to cost $100 showtime pay per view, through Showtime. I had the intention that my promoter would talk about how great I was and vice versa, but when my opponent took the microphone he crossed the line, “You all really going to believe this piece of *expletive* is going to be beat me?” I was angered at the remarks and Immediately I grabbed my microphone and clapped back, “Shut your *expletive* mouth!” We both got heated, I got up so close to him that I was able to tell by the smell of his breath that he had eaten onion rings for lunch. It was the same routine for the next cities, but with some very derogatory words being said in London. He had started his shenanigans with the most insulting words I have ever heard anyone say to me in my career, “Why you promoting this guy he’s got no future here look at his family! Looks like they barely surviving off of welfare.” That was the last straw, “You can’t even pay your taxes bro. Don’t even get started with my family, your father was a druggie.” Not the way I would’ve liked to promote this fight, but these things never go the way you’d like them
