This early in the semester, you’d never expect people soliciting for meal swipes. But TDR is seeming more and more unpredictable these days.
Last week my roommate Andreas and I approached the entrance when two girls asked us to swipe them in. Had they asked freshmen year when we had more swipes than a Tinder-addict, we would have said yes for sure. But as we get closer to the end of our 100-block meal plans, such charity seems less and less affordable
Andreas said he couldn't make the donation, and joked they should ask some freshmen. I walked by too, and heard something that sounded like "Well those two are dicks" muttered at our backs.

And they put a ton of soul into it. Like, an impressive amount of showmanship. Flailing their middle fingers, they tried their best to make a scene. A scene they were filming, I assume to show off the sick #justiceporn they unleashed. I mean, what kind of dicks would try to deny them their God-given right to enter TDR?
I told their vindictive middle fingers how few swipes I had, but only received a "We don't care." They then did the same to Andreas.
Once they quenched their appetite for justice, the vigilantes walked off. The two were no doubt satisfied their anti-oppression middle fingers had achieved vengeance.
Stunned, Andreas and I ate our food while thinking about the encounter . We couldn't believe someone would feel so antagonized by "Sorry, we aren’t going to pay for you to eat food." That they filmed themselves insulting us is as disgraceful as it is hilarious.
