Lakes Every time I stare out across a lake, a million questions flow through my head. But the number one question that I ask the most about them is “why?” or “how”, and I’ve wondered about these big reservoirs of water since I’ve journeyed onto one. Ever since I was a little boy, my father and Uncle Brian would always take me to one of the biggest lakes in Southern Illinois, Carlyle Lake. I would swim and I would play in the lake just like any other child would, but my favorite part of it all would be riding in my uncle’s speed boat. Going 80 miles per hour down a huge, open body of water when you’re ten years old is pretty exciting. Plus on top of everything else, I absolutely loved to swim, so I would be on in or on Carlyle Lake almost
