Jim was a happy child. He was 12 years old and had an amazing family. Everything in his life was perfect, that is, before the accident. It happened on his way back from a soccer game that his team barely won, he scored the winning goal in the last minute of the game. Jim knew he was special, special in a good way, special in a game-winning goal type of way. He could kick a soccer ball at a target up to 70 feet away, with pinpoint accuracy. Anything within 70 feet of Jim and a soccer ball was a viable target. Jim often got bored of his peculiarity, so much so that he would purposely kick the ball just barely out of reach of the goalie’s hands. All that came easy to Jim, until the accident. Everything went black Jim couldn’t see, he heard voices, sirens and that was it. Two days later Jim woke up in a hospital bed. There was a nurse next to him, not attractive in any sort but better than nobody. Her eyes, one green and the other bright blue, bloodshot from a lack of sleep but always watching him. She introduced herself “Hi there Jim, I’m Mrs.Hornberry, I’ll be taking care of you until you die… ah, I mean until you can go home. Haha silly me.” Jim was scared, something was off, he didn’t like the way she said die. He assumed it was a sad attempt at humor but, she had a deadly look in her eye. “Oh would you look at the time, I really should be heading home, see you tomorrow Jim.” said Mrs.Hornberry. Jim hadn’t realized how late it was when he woke up, he fell asleep. It was 8:53 am when he woke up, he was still quite dazed from waking up but, he swore he saw Mrs.Hornberry by his water cup.
