Imagine being a seven-year-old kid loving gymnastics. The worst part about doing gymnastics is that you have to do your least favorite apparatus, the balance beam. You are working on new skills for the next up coming competition season and something terrible happens. All the gymnasts were told to go to a certain apparatus. The level fours were chosen to go to the balance beam. All the level four athletes got up on the beam and started warming up, walking along the beam, kicks along the beam and even jump sequences on the beam. After the warm up our coach said “okay level fours I want you to work on skills, these being five jumps, five handstands and five cartwheels and the we would work on routines.” I slowly worked on handstands so I didn’t fall and I landed every single one right. After waiting an hour to go see someone about my arm they had numbed it. The doctor said that I had a high tolerance to pain. I went to go get a cast on my arm and they asked me what colour I wanted and of course I said pink, but there was no pink so I had to settle for red. I was then taken to a room and had laughing gas as I said “I feel funny” and started laughing. I eventually woke up when the cast was done. I found out on one side that it was broken and on the other side, I had a green stick fracture. I then went home and woke up the next morning I wasn’t sure if I actually broke my arm and when I looked down sure enough there was a cast there. Over the next few weeks I had worked on doing strength without using my arms. After five weeks of being in the cast was over I was able to get my cast removed and then had to strengthen my arm again. This was hard as it would crack and click which initially hurt a lot and then it strengthened and I was able to write with it without being sore and to this day you can still see where I had the green stick
