“Runners on your mark, get set”, at that very moment there was nothing but silence. Sweat began to trickle down the side of my face as well as between my fingers. My heart was trying to explode out of my chest and my one thought was, “the worst has yet to come”. In a matter of seconds, the starter pulled the trigger, and a pop released from the barrel of the gun which kept me captivated.
