He worked out of the old Firehouse under the Opera House and also the brand-new department (now on West Main Street). He stayed in Littleton until 1991 and then got the urge to leave again. This time Alaska. Without a clue of what he was going to do, he packed up his truck and drove to Alaska.

Joseph Yelich is currently the superintendent of schools for the Oneonta City School District. Before coming to Oneonta, Joe was instrumental in building relationships with the colleges near his town with the local high school by creating a program that enabled students to take college courses while attending high school. This has been what he has been working on since he arrived at Oneonta. It is clear that his mission was to eventually give students the opportunity to graduate high school with either a college degree or credits that are accepted at any SUNY school.

As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself. To Provide help on future careers, Henley High School also provided an opportunity to take the CIS test

All my 8th grade classmates and I sit on the cafeteria floor at Daniel Wright Middle School, giggling and staring at the gigantic screen. A slideshow plays. Often mortifying pictures of our younger selves appear with our names. I recollect all the vivid memories from middle school and earlier, like when my 5th grade teacher accidentally threw a snowball at one of my classmates. My friends and I sit together, hollering when we see each other on the screen.
“I am the President of my 4-H club.” When I say these words I am proud. I am proud of all that I have learned through 4-H, and how it has allowed me to grow. 4-H has impacted me by giving me the skills to reach my full potential.
08/14 My son kevin has been having bad dreams lately, there is supposedly a man in his room at night. He tells me they arent dreams, but this supposed mystery man is clearly just a figment of his imagination, when I was a child my mind came up with the craziest things. I remember I used to think my teddy bear would actually walk to my sisters room when I was asleep, turns out that my sister was just jealous and she snuck in and kidnapped him every night. 08/16 Kevin told me that he heard whispering through his closet last night that woke him up, I asked him why he didnt come get me to inspect his room for monsters, and he told me that he was too scared to get out of bed. I blame myself for letting him watch scary movies before bedtime.
It happened on June 11, 2015. My lacrosse team won our regional quarter final game the previous day—I scored my personal best of five goals and was named Player of the Game. As a reward for the win, my coach gave us a three hour practice the next day that was strictly conditioning—leaving the seniors 30 minutes to go home, shower, change, and drive to our Senior Dinner at Bowdoin College. I raced home from practice, my sweat sticking to the car leather seats, music blasting, and the wind in my hair. I had the future on my mind: playoffs, graduation, summer, and college.
I am David Myles Thompson, I and take much pride in my first and middle just as much as my last name. My mother always tells me that “It’s important to never look like what you’ve been through,” you smile at the world and it’ll smile back, cry at the world and you’ll cry alone. And I believe that the circumstances that I had been victim to have made me who I am today and ultimately paved the road for the future. That road, which is my destiny- what I make it up to be and these are the goals that I have for myself, academic/career/ and life goals.
Around April of 2015 while I was still in high school, I received a letter from the University of Mississippi. The letter contained information about me being offered a scholarship called Chancellor’s Leadership. The letter said that I was being offered the scholarship because of my outstanding career as a leader in high school, and I would have to be enrolled in the class, Chancellor’s Leadership, that meets Tuesdays from 6 o’clock pm to 7 o’clock pm. I was very enthusiastic about receiving the scholarship because it only eased the burden of paying for college, and the class would be fairly easy because it is lecture based from speakers all across the United States with various job titles without any test, quizzes, or homework. Work with children Throughout my high school and college years, I have had several experiences with children that have all played a part in shaping my love for working with children. During high school, I spent two summers nannying for two young school aged children. Working with these siblings really made me realize how much fun I have working with children and watching them grow. Once I came to college, I started another babysitting job working with two four year old twin girls.
Leadership interview I was given the chance to interview Hailey Hunt who has a position on student council. She taught me about her position and how she has been able to help others. She has taught me the many sides of being a leader and how it can be quite trying at times. I have found interviewing a leader is very different from researching about a leader.
