This week’s article, “Six Lies about the Marlins Stadiums,” by Elfrink unveils that the Marlins stadium used the taxpayers’ money unwisely. Simply maintaining this stadium costs more than what the Marlins stadium brings in. Thus, the Marlins Stadium has a low gross income, which is very problematic for the taxpayers, since they might be a certain way of using their money for that. According to Jordan Rappaport and Chad Wilkerson in the article, “What Are the Benefits of Hosting a Major League Sports Franchise?”
Another day at Fenway. The Boston Red Sox are trailing the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 and Mookie Betts (The Red Sox Right Fielder) comes to the bat for the first time tonight due to a sore arm. Bronson Arroyo (Reds Pitcher) throws a wicked curveball that is almost impossible to hit. But Mookie knew that this ball was long gone. Arroyo thought he was gonna strike out Mookie
One of the most important moments of this internship was working in the proposal room for ECND. Though that I was
G is for Giants According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Giants “The San Francisco Giants are an American professional baseball franchise based in San Francisco, California. The tan sand around the bases with the growing green grass and old worn out cracked dugouts is where I would have been. The Albany baseball diamond was where me and my friends hung out. We would hit old worn out baseballs with the leather coming off of them and run around the aged bases and sleep on the old rickety metal things they called bleachers. The school right beside it also had a playground which we may or may not have supposed to be on. Dairy Dream was just across the street with the delicious smell of hot chocolate fudge and the nose tingling scent of vanilla ice cream that filled the air.
This weekend we get to watch a Detroit Lions game! We’re driving down to the West branch to spend some time with our friends. I can’t wait it’s going to be so much fun! My family traveled down near West Branch where we stayed for the weekend with our friends, Brent, Ronda, and their son Brendan.
The time has come, baseball season is in full swing! Now that basketball has long since ended, it’s time for America’s greatest pastime to begin. Not to knock other sports, but come on. What’s more American than baseball, hot dogs, peanuts, and Crackerjacks? Captained by the Clark brothers Matt and Cam, the Panthers look to improve on their weak record of last Spring (two, maybe three wins?) and compete in a high powered Mayflower League.
Bloody, bruised, and battered, Falls Church’s football team fought on in the fourth quarter. A football flew through the air as players crashed into one another sprinting to the ball, except I wasn’t on the field, nor was I on the sideline. I was a freshman watching our varsity footall team lose 0 to 48 on homecoming night, a familiar sight to many Falls Church students for the past 40 years. Those past 40 years are what has made Falls Church football the laughing stock of our conference, and since our school was one of the smallest high schools in the area, we never had the speed, size, or numbers to compete with other football teams. Our own school saw the team as a joke, 0-10 was a common season record, and being a Falls Church football
“This is gonna be a tough play. . . and the Cubs win the World Series!” That sentence, one little sentence had such an impact on my life. My dad and I sat on our burgundy leather couch anxiously watching the strikes tick up and the outs roll in one by one.
I’ve spent countless hours advancing my knowledge through school work, service opportunities, and internships. These experiences have
This picture was taken in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium. I was here with my family watching the Outback Bowl on January 1st, 2016 where the Tennessee Volunteers and the Northwestern Wildcats were playing. My brother and I got the tickets from our parents for Christmas, we were very excited because we had never been to a college or NFL football game before. Our parents decided to get us these tickets since my brother played football for school and really enjoyed it. On December 30th, 2015 they had pep rally on Clearwater Beach where they had the school bands perform and they introduced the players.
“Of Altruism, Heroism and Nature’s Gifts in the Face of Terror” is an essay written by Natalie Angier that argues that the human race is unselfish. The first example that Angier uses is the way firefighters put themselves in great danger to save others during the attacks on the World Trade Center. The second example she uses is the reaction that the passengers had on a plane that was en-route to attack Washington DC. The last example Angier uses is the public reaction of wanting to donate blood to local hospitals to help those who were in need of a blood transfusion. The primary form of appeal was pathos, and the secondary appeal was logos.
It has been challenging to be a Housing Specialist/Intern at Aguila INC. It is a new experience and most of the client are really depending on my way to advocate in order to transition into permanent housing. On Monday October 26, 2015 I escorted two families in the agency van for two different apartments located in Brooklyn (same address). I am going to named Family 1 and Family 2.
The first time on a football field and i was very hyped about it cause i got to play and the coach put me as starter because i was the biggest one on the field. The very first play we got sacked but are left lineman didn't stop the ball they got pushed over and we got sacked. The ball was on the 25 yard line and we were trying to get to the fifteen yard line to get the first down and we were short 10 yards but we could still get cause if we work hard you play hard.
