It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
but we had a motive we had an inspiration for the win. It was five o’clock and we had an hour till game time, and I was on my way to the field I was listening to music trying to get in my “zone”. I kept thinking about my dad’s words “Make this count, treat this like your last game. You will never forget
The second I was on the field I knew my team had the game won. All I could see around me was a group of men ready for war. I couldn’t be more ready for my last home opener so after I did what I do when the unexplainable happens, accept it. I ran to the 45 to the 35 to the 20, hoping to find the kick returner. 8 months waiting for this moment all the sweat, pain, 100 degree sun beaming UV rays to my face.
My own body had failed me and I had failed the team. I 'm sure it didn 't seem like a big deal to anyone else but it was to me because I had faced this forward many a time and he had never flat out beaten me like that. It meant that if he could beat me then all the other offensive people on other teams could also beat me just as easy. After the game it was all I could think about.
That One Player It was 1965, I was in NYC,Brooklyn. I was walking through the projects, the clouds were crying, raindrops proliferating. Streets were flooded with Whites. I was depressed, I'm always getting mistreated because I'm always different than white people. They would push me, jeer at me, and even spread rumors about me.
It all started with the snap of a leather football. I came out of my stance to get double teamed by an angry and aggressive nose guard and fast line backer. I get pushed back as my clumsy feet get tripped up and I fall backwards. A fierce pain shoots up my back as I groan. My friend helps me to my feet as I stumble back to the huddle.
This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.
If you want something you have to go get it. Nothing in life will be handed out. The baseball field in my view as i approached it. It was a cold spring day. When i found out that hard work pays off if you try.
It happened on June 11, 2015. My lacrosse team won our regional quarter final game the previous day—I scored my personal best of five goals and was named Player of the Game. As a reward for the win, my coach gave us a three hour practice the next day that was strictly conditioning—leaving the seniors 30 minutes to go home, shower, change, and drive to our Senior Dinner at Bowdoin College. I raced home from practice, my sweat sticking to the car leather seats, music blasting, and the wind in my hair. I had the future on my mind: playoffs, graduation, summer, and college.
We were down by one, and I went in at the end of the game, and I took my opportunity to show what I was made of. I played with all my heart running up and down the green grassy field, going up against big guys-- fearing no one. We finally scored to tie up the game. Then overtime came and I was still in. Although we lost that game, it was the best game I ever had.
Our quarterback lets the ball fly, and time just seems to slow down. The wide receiver jumps for the ball, and he somehow catches it. The crowd erupts, and we rush the field and celebrate with our teammate. The game is over, but we have made a new memory at our
It all came down to the second to last game of the hockey season. The playoffs started and we had made it onto the semi-finals. The whole team began to warm up for the biggest game of the season. Everyone knew the magnitude of the game and what had to get done in order to win.
I started to jump and get hyped and I knew at that point that this was going to be the game to win and get us back on the right track. Early in the game we caught them off guard and made a quick touchdown on a pass to Darryl on two McKinley defensive backs and lead the game 7-0. This play relieved some of the stress from me and my teammates on defense because our offense was up and running. Usually it take a while for our offense to start scoring, but they started off well. We went back out on defense and got a few more stops, then unexpectedly McKinley started a drive down the field, next, they finally score on us on a big jet sweep play.
Life is tough, but every life is tough in its own way. As a boy growing up with no father figure to look up to and a family with a challenging financial situation I was put to a challenge from the beginning. Many in the same situation seem to crack under the lack of supervision of a parent figure during a young age and seem to diminish their futures. In my case it was different, although not as academically gifted as possible other applicants many aspects can set me apart. Involved in three varsity sports from freshman year of high school devoting time and performing at a higher than average performance, athleticism is something that set me apart.
The first time on a football field and i was very hyped about it cause i got to play and the coach put me as starter because i was the biggest one on the field. The very first play we got sacked but are left lineman didn't stop the ball they got pushed over and we got sacked. The ball was on the 25 yard line and we were trying to get to the fifteen yard line to get the first down and we were short 10 yards but we could still get cause if we work hard you play hard.
