Our life experiences mold us into the people we are. Growing up, my parents exemplified hard work, persistence and constant learning as tenants of success. As I matured, failures that I encountered taught me the resilience needed to overcome challenges. Through my experiences with research, I learned to value perseverance and thinking outside the box. Later, leading design and volunteer organizations, I understood the meaning of leadership and importance of clear communication. I realize now that all of these traits are incredibly essential and valuable to be effective in any profession. However, the one quality, in my opinion, that matters most to me as a future clinician is my ability to genuinely connect with and care for people.
