Terrain, Edie Marshall’s installation of 1000 lushly worked oil paintings, is a record of a road trip through the Great Plains of North America. Over the duration of the trip, made in 2013, Marshall took over 1500 photos on her iPhone. Randomly shooting images on impulse, most of the photos are landscapes taken from the passenger seat of the moving car, though shots also include excursions into towns, cities, historic sites, an aquarium, hiking trails, parks, and roadside vistas. Upon returning from the trip Marshall took up the challenge of creating painting from these numerous photos. However, rather than eliminating images down to a few select, well-composed scenes to paint Marshal utilized the spontaneity with which the images were taken
In the middle of the United States lies the charming, small town of Grand Mound, Iowa, a place that remains my home forever. This tight knit community encloses my safe haven. Without a doubt, Grand Mound contains nothing but friendly people and a peaceful environment. In addition, unique scenery shows through old buildings, with architecture dating back to the early 1900s, and the surroundings by infinite waves of cornfields. After harvest season, sunsets display a breathtaking view of blends of oranges and yellows over the horizon.
Through the use of imagery, Richard Wagamese highlights the need to mend one's connections to oneself, others, and the natural environment in his writing. Images of the natural world, especially those of forests and rivers, highlight how everything is connected and how important it is to live sustainably. It symbolizes the process of reestablishing a connection to nature, which is necessary for building resilience on an individual level. Reestablishing a connection with nature is crucial for fostering resilience in people. Modern culture often neglects our relationship with nature, even though it is essential to our health.
In other words, McCloskey drew pictures of nature in such a way as to allow viewers see its beauty. For instance, the shadows created by the clouds seem so authentic that it allows the reader to appreciate them. This natural image is also viewed in McCloskey’s pictures
By engaging with these pristine landscapes, we connect with the legacy of those who came before us and forge a lasting bond with nature itself. Pathos Rhetoric:
Our attachment to nature is represented in significant interactions that occur through events and situations. An individual’s value of nature may be challenged through their experiences and the obstacles they have encountered throughout their lives. Alain De Botton’s philosophical text The Art of Travel explores our attraction to nature and how it affects our inner being. This is also highlighted in Albert Namatjira’s painting Ljalkaindirma which conveys the artist’s links between his Aboriginal heritage and its culture. Both these texts explore humanity’s connection to landscapes and our own lives through their personal and imaginary insights which reflect their unique methods of representation.
She was so captivated by the beauty and sublime feeling the landscape had invoked in her, she hadn’t realized what she had done until she was finished. Mountains and Sea is a gentle wash of pastel reds, blues, and greens. The colors blossom up and out in the representation of mountains, while sprays and lines of blue water frame and enhance the land. The freedom and spontaneity Frankenthaler’s work inspires is at the very heart of Abstract Expressionism. And her focus on mood and reflection, rather than an explosion of feeling, makes Mountains and Sea a fair representation of a Color Field painting.
• Britt loves hiking, and she completed an art residency in the Grand Canyon. • Britt tries to capture the form, light, and feelings of a certain place instead of photographing it.
By studying Andrew Wyeth’s work I have learned how to create colour balance and unity in my landscapes. I have also learned how effective the use of bright colour can be to portray emotion. William Kentridge has influenced my rough, cross hatch drawing style whilst Salvador Dali has influenced my approach to animalistic symbolism and unconventional composition. John Piper has inspired me to look at fine detail and taught me how to create texture with watercolour.
I chose the inner coastal plains as my place to move. I would like to live in that region because there are a lot of activities to do with my family and the weather is wonderful while I have enough resources to survive off of. Some resources from the Inner Coastal Plains that would help me is wood or timber from forests. The wood could be used for furniture. Another resource I would use from the plains would be coal.
The picture that I am going to analyze is from Linda Soderquist, let me tell you about her. She lives on a bridgeless barrier island off the southwest coast of Florida and it gives her the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife and be inspired by beaches. Been on the beach, she photograph and collect objects from the wrack line that will be incorporated into the watercolor paintings. Sea turtles and shorebirds are frequent painting themes, while weathered structures littering the island’s coastline also provide fascinating subjects. Attuned to nature, her paintings reflect the essence of a rustic, simple life.
Nardkarni calls on audiences’ emotions by employing this image in order to persuade audiences that there is a need for images of rainforests in the recreational spaces of
Below the gown she is resting on are some flowers and some green grass. Around her are rolling hills and green trees, and a village on the far right that was manmade. Beyond the village is a tall building with high arches. Also by the village are barns with hay bales. The hay bales are big and round.
My salient identity is being Asian with parents that are immigrants, and are also in the lower middle class category. Being Asian to me falls into the conflict theory. The conflict theory to me is if you are poor, you have less resources to climb into the next wealth class. My parents showed me that you don't need much to help yourself. Sometimes it can be good to be Asian, more is expected out of you when it comes to your parents, and it can really motivate you to do better.

It was in the summer of second grade when my mother decided to bring me out of the country to visit my father and spend two months in Dubai.
