Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. I have been involved with many activities, such as: sports teams, volunteering in my church, and Boy Scouts of America. An accomplishment I experienced and has created a large impact on my life was completing my Eagle Scout Service Project. I have been actively involved with Boy Scouts and the Scouting Program once I turned six. After spending about two-thirds of my life with scouting, I cannot picture my life without it. Boy Scouts has taught me life lessons, given me experiences, and helped grow as a person. My Eagle Scout Service Project was constructing two “Buddy Benches” and gardens for the two elementary schools I attended. The concept of the “Buddy Bench” is to create a safe location for children that are being bullied or excluded; where they can make new friendships. The initial planning of the project resulted in researching and pricing possible materials, communication with the principals and scouts, and the realization that this project will change the school community. My community service project took dedication, managerial skills, and patience. My project has served my community and provided me with the practice of life skills. Despite extensive planning, there were some problems that delayed the project; however, my project was able to be completed. Through the planning and completion of the project, I was given the opportunity to learn more about myself; through leadership responsibilities.
