Taking my career choice into consideration was key in my decision which for most people is a long, difficult, and tedious process. The university I will be attending next fall is Washington University in St. Louis. I immediately fell in love with the school as a result of the academic programs, its community, and the classic Midwestern hospitality that I have gotten used to after having lived most of my life in Nebraska. I believe that this university specifically will help me achieve my goal of eventually becoming a neurosurgeon and making a difference in medicine and the world. My talents will be best served and exemplified at a university of this nature and will push me to go for the stars and accomplish my
UW-Eau Claire is an important school to me because of your great educational programs. Through my life I have switched the idea of what I wanted to do plenty of times. However, one idea always remained. I always wanted to be a teacher, and work with kids and be able to shape and work with the next generation of students. This past fall semester I have been taking a college course at UWGB through Bay Port.
However, I have not allowed this fact to permit urban students to outperform me. By actively communicating with my counselor and administrators, I maximized my educational career. I doubled my math classes, became one of the few to enroll in physics, convinced my Spanish teacher to unprecedently offer third year Spanish, and became Hopi High’s first AP student. At home, I delved into subjects that my school did not offer, such as: philosophy, music, Korean language and history. I have became a dynamic learner to overcome the limit that my environment set, and with this kind of attitude, I believe that I can grow and learn far more in college.
My whole life long, I have been trying to find a place where I can truly fit in. I have also been worried about what I would do when I grew up. I was torn between my passion for horses and my passion for performing. There was no way I could give up one for the other, so I searched the net for Christian colleges that had majors in both equine studies and vocal performance and there it appeared: Asbury University. It was manna from Heaven.
Deciding to become an education major at California University of Pennsylvania was one of the best decisions I could have made. I am very excited to delve further into my major and become the best teacher I can be. I believe that, with the help of the honors program, I will be able to do this. In ten years I will be twenty six and would hopefully be out of school. I would have gone to school and gotten my bachelor’s degree in mortuary science in one of the sixty schools that are accredited by the Board of Funeral Service Education. I would have done my apprenticeship at a funeral home and gotten my certificate to be a certified mortician. I would be trying to open up my own funeral home to support my family. As a mortician I would work from funeral homes or crematoriums, and helping families who have had family members who have recently deceased.
I would like to address my educational short comings. In high school, I was overwhelmed with the responsibilities of helping raise my two baby brothers with my mom. Those responsibilities included, but were not limited to: babysitting, household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry; tending to the family dog, and just taking care of my own personal needs. It had gotten to the point that I had enrolled in independent study at Chico High School in fall 2010 so I could pick up a job for some extra money because funds were so tight. I was taking courses at Butte College by the summer of 2010 and immediately enrolled full-time for the fall 2011 semester after I graduated high school.
Who I am II as a learner In school I am a kid that doesn 't talk that much, and doesn 't get In the conversation. But as I 'm getting better and better In school am hoping to get 5-6 grades. And past first semester my goal Is to get 6 and 8-7 grades. I am a risk taker Im my way I don 't do what the teacher said and bring It to the next level.
My high school career at James Madison High School has prepared me to be successful as a student at Radford University because of how competitive it is. Parents, teachers, and friends are always pushing me to be the best that I can be, whether that be with my education, social life, or relationships. The faculty and students at James Madison High school have given me a deeper view of the world. I have been exposed to many different ethnic groups and situations, good and bad, which have helped prepare me for the 'real world ' at college.
When I first graduated high school I thought I wanted to be a pilot to fly airplanes, so I signed up to attend classes at Kishwaukee College located in DeKalb. ECC helped me sing up for classes at an in district rate because Elgin could not offer the courses that I wanted to me. During the first semester I found out that I did not want to become a pilot anymore and that I would be happier if I changed and focused on computer science. The advisors helped me schedule classes back at ECC for computer science then next semester. During the last year and a half at ECC I have been able to start fulfilling my education goals by getting a good education and find out what I want to go to college for.
The first half of this semester was swift and I can’t believe how fast it passed by. College is a whole new world for me that I had never imagined with a lot of new experiences that I hope will shift me into a better and smarter person. There are more things I can do in college that I would have never dared to do in high school and I am happy for these new freedoms. I am able to eat in class, leave class without asking and they don’t care if I pay attention or not. My high school teachers would always tell me to wait for the bell, sometimes would not let me leave and if I did not pay attention they would yell.
Introduction My child study is on a Caucasian, eight-year-old boy named Brody. He is in the second grade because he has a June birthday and repeated Kindergarten. In addition, Brody has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and used to be in a speech class in preschool and some of kindergarten. I completed my observations of Brody’s physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development at his house.
My name was given. I grew up with someone always giving me something, or taking it away. I’m different now. Where I grew up, there were always sandstorm during spring time. The whole sky would turn yellow and we all have to put on some scarves to fight against the sand.
My adolecent years helped me grow into woman that has the ability to look the world from her own abstract perspective. There were three developments I went through; biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial. Biosocial deals with the things that are happening in person’s body, like growth and nutrition. Cognitive development deals with the way the adolescents think. Lastly, psychosocial development deals with the interaction between a society and a person, and their identity.

This LJE will serve as the basis for documenting the systematic approaches I have taken towards tackling the tasks for this week.
