Our biggest event was when we hosted a carnival for our school’s Yo-Hi Day (end of the year field day event). We hosted a variety of different activities for students to do such as a joust-stick battle, a bouncy house obstacle course, a dunk tank, and more. The day of the event was the easiest to manage, but the process of making it happen was a challenge. I’ve realized that a lot of things goes on behind the scenes, and sometimes people are not aware of that because what they see are the results. A lot of things happened during the process like; making sure all the supplies came in on time, figuring out the quantity and the type of food we should get for the snack bar, who is available to supervise each activity, and what’s plan B if the snow
This challenge can be overcome by closely coordinating the activities of all the
My time in 4-H, working, volunteering, and my first semester of college have provided me with leadership opportunities and experiences that were often challenging. In order to cope with these challenges, I had to develop skills that would allow me to move forward. The first of which is the ability to work well on a team. This skill is one that I’ve had to practice in many environments such as completing a group project, playing softball, working in food service, and volunteering as a camp counselor.
As a volunteer in Royal Free Hospital we always had to work in a team,I found out that during lunch time the nurses, housekeepers, and the volunteers had to work in collaboration to make sure that lunch is served to all the patients,I found out that this always proved to be a success because everyone came together as a team. I am good at problem solving;Working as a volunteer on a busy ward I had to deal with some challenging patients who will never want to want to eat anything on the set menu,I had to learn how to negotiate with them by going back to them with the menu and take my time to explain to them how beneficial it will be to them to have their
On my first year, I was promoted from team member to team lead in my job at Jamba Juice. This experience had a great influence on my leadership skills. I was in charge of the employees and the store during the evening shift, and some weekend’s day shift. My duties included to direct the team members to help clean the store at closing, count the money in the registers, prepare deposits, and print out the sales for the day. My actions were best displayed by completing all evening tasks in order to prepare the store for the next day.
Within this volunteer experience, we all showed teamwork, good communication and networking skills. Teamwork is the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient. Communication is defined as imparting or exchanging of information between two or more people. Great communication was shown within my group since we’re working like in an assembly line we talked to the people next to us and got to know one another which made the volunteering experience really fun. Within our group we were in charge of making a bag that contained a bag of cereal, milk, a can of beans, corn, ravioli, mango slices, apple sauce and two granola bars.
Each member of the team has a variety of strengths and weaknesses and it’s important to utilize each person in accordance. Another example is an anesthesiologist team which includes the main anesthesiologist, anesthesiologist assistants, and several nurses. Each member on the team works together to provide patients with high-quality treatment. In addition to working on a team, it’s also key to establish a group leader. Volunteering for leadership positions can improve a variety of transferable skills, such as communication, management, and leadership skills.
The Ride Today, my family and I went to Kings Island and we made it through the exhausting car ride.. We walked into the park and we were started looking for somewhere for a roller coaster to ride like the small ,medium, big, and huge I wanted to go on a medium kind roller coaster. We roamed around a little going around checking all of the places to eat, little games to play, and the huge rides they have. I said to my dad “ There's a lot of places to eat here.” he and said “I wonder why it’s always packed too.”
Leadership plays a large role in these activities. I show leadership in group work by taking charge and ensuring everyone is doing their part in it. I try and make sure one person is not doing all the work. In the classroom I show leadership by paying attention and turning all the assessments in on time. People say being polite and having manners will help you in life.
Hi, my name’s Donovan. I’m 17 years old and graduated this year with honors. I was raised with Christian values in mind, and attended a Methodist school. I was raised in the Christian faith yet I find myself, as with some of my friends who were raised in the same conditions, we seem to be growing farther away from our upbringing as we age. I find myself simply not understanding as time goes by, a complete polar opposite from the song ‘Farther Along’.
I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
My personal memoir from this semester was written about a particular game of chess with a friend. I started by spending lots of time listing different ideas, and understanding how well those ideas would fit into a personal memoir format. This paper taught me how to use words to paint a picture in the reader’s mind. It was difficult to find one main point and keep that point relevant throughout the entire paper. Instead, I found it easier to divide the main point up into smaller ideas and explain each of those individually and then connect them all at the end of the paper.
My Story Has Just Begun. Ever wanted to know what I really wanted to do with my life? Because it took me many years before I realized what I wanted to do when I grew up. But after many years of soul searching and attending many different colleges, I finally found my place here at Walla Walla Walla Community College-Clarkston (WWCC-Clarkston). My story has just begun and I cannot wait to see how it ends.
Throughout the rollercoaster of my life i've had many ups and down but through it all i've been able to accomplish many things. I take what I am given and I forge success out of whatever it may be. There are many different things that make up the one person know as David Wetherill. I like to think that for the most part, I am a pretty easy person to get along with. I am generally a positive person to be around and I try not to judge anyone for the choices that they make or the beliefs that they subscribe to.
Starting over Starting over might be easy when you are young, but if you are middle age and already have a stable and calm life, it is very hard to start over. My family and I moved from Egypt to The US three years ago, so we had to start from scratch. We found systems in the US are different from my country. After we found a good residence, our concern was finding employment. I was a science teacher in my country, so I tried to find a job in the educational field, but there were a lot of requirements to get a job as a teacher.
