Dear, Jamie, You should go to Michigan because… We have a lot of water. We have a U.P. and a L.P. We are also known as the, “Cherry state.” Michigan has a lot of water around it. The whole state is surrounded by water.
Over the summer I traveled to Tennessee to see my cousins. The day we arrived, we visited Lake Winnie, an amusement park with tons of rides with a water park. It was a joyful day. That day I went on the first roller coaster I 've ever been on. While walking nervously up the steps to get into line with my cousin, I felt the adrenaline rushing through my body, and I felt very anxious.
My Michigan Hero I want you to think of someone special, to think of a hero. When I think of a hero I think of my dad. I remember when I was younger, and I didn’t like to read. My dad taught me just how amazing reading is.
When I Went To Florida I went to Florida after 4th grade in the summer. When we went to Florida, Jaxon my sisters, brother came with us. The night before we left he stayed at my house. When we left the next morning we left at 3:00 A.M. While we were on our way we both had to sit in the very back of the car because my sisters came with us. The ride there was not fun at all.
My Personal Michigan Hero I can feel my brain being over run by lesions. This is one of the ways my dad, Tim Huyge, jokes about his dieses M.S. He was born in the 1970’s in a hard-working middle class family. After high school, he went to Grand Valley University, and worked as the manager of T.J.Max. Until he had to retire because of his M.S.
There are some people that I can’t imagine living life without. I can’t live life without my friends from school, my blood family, or my dogs. Though I cannot live without any of the entities I just listed, there is someone that I know, this person is special. This person has left a big impact on my life, and his name is Jody. I remember when me, my mom, my sister, and Jody would go to Culvers every week that I was with my mom.
I have lived in Michigan for my whole life. The state of Michigan itself is a very unique place, but even more unique is the upper peninsula of Michigan. The UP is barely more than three percent of the population of Michigan. We 're known as Yoopers, many people think of us as rednecks that sit around and hunt all day. Though the opening days of hunting season means most of the teachers are gone for hunting, there is a lot more to the UP than hunting.
" Good morning Owen, I hope you have a great day." Mrs. Derk's gave me a shining smile as I walked down the hallway past the office to start third grade at Pathfinder Elementary School in Fremont. My Michigan hero doesn't do big things, she does a bunch of small things everyday to make people smile and have a positive beginning to their day. Mrs. Derk's maybe did not have the most exciting or relaxing job in the world being a elementary secretary she made the best of her job and expressed a positive outlook. She always went the extra mile for her friends and coworkers but not expect much or any thing in return for all the hard work that she does.
Getting down to Nebraska was harsh and the trail was dusty. The children like me had to take care of the animals. Jim, Antonia and myself became really good friends after living next door to each other for a while and we do everything together. When I work, I help my dad to plant and harvest crops and hunt for food. We planted and harvested corn, potatoes, pumpkin, wheat, peas, carrots and tomatoes.
The first time I went to Mackinac Island was a truly unforgettable experience. Lots of people have always told me “We can’t go, we can’t fit the wheelchair on the boat.” But during last summer in August we decided to go Mackinaw City instead. I was super excited for it, I don’t why I had been to the city parts a thousand times over. That and I was sick as a dog with an unexplainable cold but that didn’t stop mom from saying “okay we’re going.”
In the story, ”The Masque of the Red Death,” the author uses the seven rooms as a symbol to express the themes of the story. To begin, Poe signifies that the palace has seven rooms. He uses the number seven as a symbol for the seven deadly sins. This provides the theme of selfishness and greed when Prince Prospero locks himself away in an effort to save himself and leaves his people to fend for themselves. Next, the author states that the clock, which is located in the Black room, can be heard anywhere in the palace.
Everyone got up and got ready to go. We grabbed all our suitcases and snack, then packed them in the truck. When everyone was settled in we began our 21 hour journey to Outer Banks, North Carolina. Along the way my family and I watched many movies and slept quite a bit.
My Trip to Florida It was a cold winter night in Upstate New York. My mom and dad were enjoying a cup of coffee, my sisters were playing video games, and I was editing a few pictures on my computer. My mom brought up the idea of a vacation. She said” We haven’t been on a vacation for a long time”.
Alabama Trip My mom and and dad told me in December that we were going to Gulf Shores, Alabama to visit my grandparents. Gulf Shores is the southernmost town in Alabama, located on the north coast of the Gulf of Mexico. I have been there twice when I was little. I remember that I collected seashells and went swimming with Boppa in the pool.
At the age of twelve I had had been invited to go on a week long missions trip to Hamilton Ohio. For several days we had ran a VBS program. Despite being an agnostic, I had been in charge of my own small group of kindergarteners. I had helped lead the bible stories, sang with them and danced to the corny sign filled dances. However, I my heart wasn’t in it.
