It was one of the hottest days in Alabama. It was 100*. With the humidity, it felt like 150*. As I walked onto the football field, the field smelled like newly cut grass. I looked for Kevin and Will. I saw Will sitting on the bleachers. He was wearing our game day jersey. With his khaki pants. He looked like a normal football player. We waited for coach Kevin to get here. Will was a blind assistant coach that knows all the plays. He was hit so hard in the head that he was blind. Finally coach Kevin showed up. Will would help me get to know the plays because he used to be the quarterback and now I’m the quarterback. “Coach did we get any new plays this year?” I asked the coach.
