The prompt I chose to do is “Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.” Tell about the people from your life who represent those re-kindlers and the time or times you felt like your “light had been blown out.” The people I picked were my mother, Wendy, and my therapist, Jody. I picked them because they both have helped me through a lot throughout my life. My mom is one of my rekindlers because she has helped me through a lot of tough situations. She has helped me through situation like, a stomach ache to being sexually assaulted. My mother has re lit my candles by supporting me through everything. She has supported me because she has told me to keep my head held up high and to not let anyone put me down. She has given me advice like to always stay out of other people’s drama and to to never let anyone drag you into doing something you don’t want too. She is a big help in my life, she has has been by my side when I overdosed, when I was raped, when I got admitted into Lincoln Prairie. She has been there for the good too, getting my driver’s license, going to homecoming with my friends, and when I graduated 8th grade. My mom has been there for me through thick and thin. I started going to her my freshmen year becasue of being sexualy assaulted. She was the best therapist I have ever had. I have been to a couple, but they didn't seem to help me. When we found Jody, my life has turned in a completely different direction. She didn't baby me and say “oh so how does that make you feel?” She understood me.
