Growing up in a Mexican household, the food we ate always had a spice to it. Whether the spice was on the side or already prepared in the food, my food always had a spice to it. My grandma’s favorite signature spice was her Pico De Gallo. Pico de Gallo also called salsa Fresca, is made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh Serrano’s (jalapeños or habaneros are used as alternatives), salt, and key lime juice. At first I did not like Pico de Gallo because I couldn’t bear how spicy it was.
Black bears have a medium to heavy frame with large ears and powerful limbs. The black bear has a coat that can differentiate from brown, cinnamon, blond, grey-blue, and of course, black. They can adapt to their environment easily but are normally found in forested areas. It has a diet that consists of fruits, buds, berries, nut, insects, and food lest by humans. They are incredible climbers that can use their claws to extract food from the trees.
Sloths are a medium-sized mammal. There are two types of sloth the two-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth, they are classified into six different species. Although they 're largely similar, two-toed sloths are slightly faster, larger and have a more varied diet compared to the three-toed variety. All living sloths have in fact three toes; the "two-toed" sloths, however, have only two fingers. They are weird looking characterized by slow movement in the trees.
Grew up in a rural area a tiny place named Bird Cove, no roads nor electricity until in the 50th. Gasoline lamps lighted up the darkness of our homes. Wood stoves kept bodies warm during the day and at night. Kept the hungry belly filled to content because families were able to cook daily meals on the
Hypothesis #1: In environment one, it was hypothesised that the light and dark blue prey will have the highest survival rate. This is because their colors will blend in with the fabric, making it hard for the predators to find them. #2: In environment two, it was hypothesised that the pink, white, and black prey would have the most left over when the predators finished. This hypothesis was also inferred because the color of these prey would make it easier to blend in with the fabric.
Adaptions are characteristics that living things have in response to its enviornment changing. All plants and animals have their own unique characteristics to defend and protect themselves from their enviornment around them. Organisms need to use their characteristics to find a way to reproduce, have a need for energy, protect themselves from predation, and from their own enviornment. Gray wolves have many special adaptions that help them to protect and live in their own enviornment. Gray wolves have a thick fur coat to protect themselves from their cold enviornment in the snow and their log guard hairs to keep them out of moisture.
Monday October 3rd I was texting my cousin Teagan Snyder and was talking about rodeo season again and she said that she was going to a Leon rodeo and I asked her to ask her mom if I could go with her. Her mom said yes so I hadn’t practiced at all during the week before the rodeo. The Friday night that I got down there I had to get everything ready for the rodeo in one night and it was really hard.

As a Cuban-born woman, my expected role in society is clearly defined; my thoughts and personality have a mold into which they must fit. However, a month before my fifth birthday my family made the decision to move to the United States and in doing so liberated me from these expectations and gave me the freedom to explore my own interests and beliefs. Ten years later, they were making preparations for my Quinciañera. Due to my Cuban heritage, my coming of age was set to be commemorated by a very long and very expensive night of food, dance, and family. For the same cost as the down payment on a relatively small house, I would be given the opportunity to put on a show in a dress that restricted my airways and provide food and drink for about
Not long ago about, 250,000-500,00 Gray Wolves (Canis Lupus) roamed North America. In the 1930’s people decided to try to exterminate them. Once they were endangered, people realized what an impact Gray Wolves have on the environment, as well as the effects they have on other animals. Gray Wolves range in color from grizzled gray or black to all-white. Gray Wolves eat ungulates, or large hoofed mammals, like elk, deer, moose and caribou, as well as beaver, rabbits and other small prey.
I am Alexandra Bello-Torres, I was born in Fresno, California and raised in Coachella, California. My grandparents raised me for the first years of my life since my mom had to work night shifts and slept all day, but know she has a stable job and spends time with my sister and me. On top of my family situation I was bullied throughout elementary and middle school. making it difficult for me to become the person I am now. Eventually the bullying stopped after my first year of middle school and that's when I started to grow further into the person I wanted to become.
I woke up this morning and I saw something bizarre outside my window. I saw a flamingo sitting in my yard. The funny thing is that I did not remember anything about last night. When I went downstairs to ask Dylan, Christian, Omar, and Raymond what happened they didn’t remember either. When we went outside, we were meticulous because we did not know what to expect.
Hola! Mi nombre es Asha. This is my fourth class with APU and I am enjoying my experience so far. I came here to finish my degree in sociology. It is very convenient to finish school online while working full time.
Enhancing My Roots Being Mexican-American has been such a blessing to me. Growing up I would feel embarrassed to have brown skin and to my speak my first language, which is Spanish. I would feel jealous hearing the other kids speak English so well as I struggled more and was placed in English Language Development. I would detest to get pulled out of class and get asked trivial questions like “what is this?” when it was a simple book.
The one graduation present that I’ll never forget was from my dad and stepmom. They went above and beyond to surprise me with the best graduation present to go on a cruise. This wasn’t no small cruise by any means, it was eight days long with four different ports. The day to remember most was day four at the Dominican Republic.
