Ever since I was little, I always dreamed about what I wanted to be when I grew up. Now since I am a legal adult, the reality of adulthood is coming fast and I still have to think about what I want to do in the future. I have many goals that I have set for myself, both short and long term. I am currently working on two of my short term goals and I have two long term goals that I want to fulfill as well. My short term goals are to graduate from high school and attend college, and my long term goals are to buy my own house and to have a career in some form of counseling. I want to become a counselor or a social worker because I have an urge to help out in any way I can. I want to live my life knowing that my acts in life could hopefully make someone’s life a little bit better. Making a difference in someone’s life is something I want to do because when someone made a difference in my life, it was one of the most generous and loving favors that I could have received. After I have my career chosen, I plan to buy my own house. I know that I will have to work hard and save a lot of money, but that is why it is my other long term goal. It is my dream to have my own house because my personal experience of living life without a home is tough and heartbreaking. I made a promise to myself that I would not be homeless when I grow up and I want to provide a shelter for my younger siblings, who currently are struggling to find a home. In conclusion, I plan to follow through with all of the goals that I have previously listed. I plan to achieve my goals through hard work, time, and dedication.
