Personal Narrative: My Strong Work Ethic

One of the things that sets me apart from other students is my strong work ethic and my determination to succeed. I have always be taught that the only way to success is through hard work and persistence. Whenever I am working on something I do it to the best of my ability and I take great pride in it. Even when I fail at something I don’t get discouraged because I believe that failure is only a option if you allow it. As a student I can assure you that that I will work diligently and tireless and work toward excellence.

One person that I admire because of his life of service and compassion for his community is St. Francis of Assisi. Throughout his life he emphasized the importance of service, and giving to others, especially those who are neglected and mistreated by society. Ever since I was young, learning about his life and legacy has had a huge impact on me. Community service is a big part of my life because I believe that as humans it is our duty to help out those who are less fortunate than us. Once a week I volunteer at the City Team in Chester, PA. There I assist the kitchen staff and help prepare food and dining areas for their weekly patrons. I really enjoy spending my time there because I get some peaceful time reflect on myself and my life. I also have learned to really appreciate and respect all the things that God has blessed me with.

At Howard University, I am confident that I contribute to their vision, legacy, and core values through my hard work, leadership, and my passion to help others. Even though the transition from high school to college will be difficult I will continue to work hard and not allow any obstacles deter me from accomplishing my goals. I also plan to continue my community service work. One plan to become lawyer so I continue pursuing my passion to help people but in a much larger scale, like in the
