Great clinicians are not born they are created, they start from somewhere and they’ve made mistakes on their journey to success. During my time volunteering at the Maggie Coffey Memorial Tennis Tournament, I encountered many tennis players with a variety of complaints, such as: Achilles’ tendon pain, ulnar collateral ligament dysfunction, pinched nerve syndrome “Sciatica, etc. One of the challenges that I faced while observing the tennis players was discerning the appropriate clinical questions to ask in order to get to the possible root of the problem While interviewing the patient, I found myself stuttering and asking each of the patients the same general question although they each presented with different signs and symptoms. I feel that the area that came the easiest to me was conducting the basic active/passive range of motion and manual muscle testing on the patient, by conducting these tests, I could ensure that range of motion and muscle strength were not affected by the pain and symptoms reported.
I have been going to Randolph Gymnastic Academy for almost a year. When I found out that we needed a mentor and we needed to spend up to 8 hours or more with them on our project. I decided that I needed to get started as soon as possible because I wouldn't have improved as much as I wanted in only eight hours. I started a month after we started writing our junior papers. Going there has improved my balance and agility.
I can remember the game so clearly, it was during the second quarter of the J.V. basketball game and I had just gotten the rebound and passed it out to Kelsie. Next thing I know a player from the opposing team came up right beside me and hit me in the side, I feel a big pop and hear a loud crack. I’m in excruciating pain, but I push through it and keep on playing because it 's my last quarter for the J.V. game and it 's almost halftime. I can make it until after the game tonight right, it won’t be that bad? , I remember thinking to myself as I can barely breathe because something 's wrong with my back, but I know this pain, my ribs are out of place
Kian Cahall I stood silently, not moving. I could smell the scent of the freshly cut grass as a gentle breeze heaved across the crowded golf course. The nerves were building up in my body. I was so nervous and hoping I didn't miss.
A New Academy Tennis balls are being hit from left to right, sweat is dripping from all parts of my body, everyone on the team is making an effort to win the game, and everyone else on the team is depending on me for the last point of the game. My opponent hits me a short slow ball and I strike the ball as hard as I can into the right corner of the court for the game winner. The other guy tries his hardest to get the ball back in play but the ball flies out of bounds. The smiling faces of my teammates running over to me yelling, “Yes! That’s how we do it D!” fill me with joy.

Ever since the age of five I have had a burning passion for the game of basketball. From observing my uncles and cousins playing daily pick-up basketball at the local Jersey Village Park, it instilled in me a competitive vigor to push beyond all extremes, no matter the difficulty. Although I have always loved the game of basketball, the game has not always loved me back, and at times has been unforgiving. By the beginning of seventh grade an expectation was placed upon myself to make the basketball team.
“Mitchell! It’s time!” my mom shouted from down the stairs. Nearly in tears, I sluggishly sauntered down the stairs, stalling with every step I took. Loathing this walk toward the kitchen table, I would rather be absolutely anywhere else in the world than sitting at the kitchen table doing this.
In high school there are many sports and activities to choose from. At my high school not many girls chose to play tennis, but that didn’t stop me. I played on the varsity team from freshman year to senior year, winning the conference championship two years in a row and got fourth place in the sectional tournament. Although it brought be success it seriously changed my life in many ways. Playing tennis gave me confidence; it brought me to Lewis and Clark and gave me lifelong friends.
In the spring of 2005 I was 5 years old. My dad was explaining to me that we were going to go golf with some of his friends. I didn't want to go but he said I had to meet some his friends because they wanted to meet me so I went. When we got to his friend's house.
One night me and my friend went out to play basketball. As we were playing the worker told us we had 20 minutes left. My friend went to the restroom, so I went to go get some water as I was walking I heard a diffident sound which wasn't usual. I heard some one bouncing a basketball I walked out quickly and I saw a shot go in the hoop but no one was out there. I went to the bathroom and just waited for my friend.
Wow Aleina that sounds interesting, a family all involved in one sport. I am not a big sports fan, but having boys I try to get involved as much as possible. I told myself when my boys start sports I would be a team mom as well. However, my fear is one of my boys get hit the wrong way or I think the coach does not call the right play and now I am on the field.
When you play tough matches that last about two hours or more every part of you is tested. Being in tennis you have to shake your opponent 's hand win or lose. Tennis has taught me how to control my anger and to always be the better person. I learn how to respect my coaches because all they do is try to help us improve mentally and emotionally. Also, I understand that not everyone one is taught to have good sportsmanship, but one of us have to be respectable.
In high school I was one of many who played womens basketball. I was a part of this team my four years in high school and loved every minute of it. This team was my community as it was who I identified with. Our community was non territorial due to the fact that we did not live in the gym. We did not all occupy a block on a street.
The Women’s Volleyball defeated Pine Manor in their final game of yesterday’s tournament, improving their record on the season to 6-5. It was a huge day for the Colonels, who were below .500 when the games began this morning. After scuffling to start the season, it seems as if this team may have finally hit their stride after stringing some wins together. Even though Curry would win each set in this matchup, the first one was full of struggles. Some early miscommunication quickly left the Colonels trailing 12-6.
