Everyone has traveled a different road to get to where they are today. Some roads may have felt longer and more rough, but they were worth the ride. My road to literacy started out on what I would call a dirt road that had a steep incline. What I could not see at that time was that once I got to the top, I had a smooth ride ahead of me. If I would look back at how far I have travelled I would say it was worth it all the struggles along the way, but what is important is the sponsors I had that pushed me along the way.
INTRODUCTION In Prenatal exposure to alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, and aspirin: Effects on fine and gross motor performance in 4-year-old children, 449 exposed children were studied. The purpose of this study was to measure the teratogenic effects alcohol, tobacco, aspirin and caffeine exposure have on the motor skills in four year olds. It studies four of the most commonly used and abused substances among pregnant women, mainly focusing on alcohol (Barr, Streissguth, Darby, & Sampson, 1990). This study does conclude that the embryonic stage of pregnancy is the time when the development is extremely susceptible to harm (Barr et al., 1990).
My mother always told me “That I would never be alone, and that we were two turtles seeing the watery world together from the bottom of our shimmering little pond.” But ever since, she died and thats all gone now, and I don 't have any of that anymore, she died, and I don 't have her anymore, she died, and now I have no shoulder to cry on, n…no one to tell me it’ll all be ok, She died and now I’m all alone, completely undone, slowly sinking to the bottom of my own gloomy, desolate pond. Why is it that she is the one who passed away and yet, I’m the one in a death-like state engulfed by my own saddened, grief-stricken emotions. And yea I get that my aunties are trying to be there for me and are trying to comfort me because I 'm in mourning
When I was one year old my dad made the decision to bring our family from Mexico to The Unites States. He made the decision because he faced many economic struggles. My dad told me when he lived in Mexico he was very poor and was living day to day with the money he earned. My dad did not earn enough money to pay for college, therefore he had to quit college the second year of his electrical engineering career. Now that we live in the United States I have a better opportunity to succeed in life unlike my dad.
It’s already September! Getting up was tiresome. I played my guitar and then did my morning routine. I wore black shorts with pink stripe and a Blackhawks shirt. I ate Cherry Chocolate Yopliat Whip for breakfast and milk.
I remerber the first time I learned how to read. That was the hardest things I’ve ever learned. Because, when I was in kindergarden, I wasn’t a smart boy. I just wanted to play and play so, when my teacher asked me to read, I couldn’t do that because I never review my lesson at home. After that, my teacher told my mother to take me to a private class and also have to pay more to my school.
Work with children Throughout my high school and college years, I have had several experiences with children that have all played a part in shaping my love for working with children. During high school, I spent two summers nannying for two young school aged children. Working with these siblings really made me realize how much fun I have working with children and watching them grow. Once I came to college, I started another babysitting job working with two four year old twin girls.
Special attention needs to be given to health and education to ensure the child is healthy in all aspects of their life and their education is paramount to ensuring confidence and growth so they can become healthy confident adults and can go out into the world armed with a good education. If not the child could become withdrawn, depressed, and have low self-esteem which can bring its own
Another factor which affected Genie is nutrition. “The effect of under nutrition on young children (ages 0-8) can be devastating and enduring” (Nutrition, 2011). Poor nutrition can lead to delay in physical development. Children develop most during the early years of life; without the proper nutrients children do not develop as
According to his theory, individuals are born without built-in knowledge. Everybody learns through experience, perception and parental guidance. One answer to providing more effective circumstances to children could be a much more self-critical, reflective and differentiated strategies of instruction developed through meaningful observations, noticing and recognizing what is important, influencing and significant to the child and about the child, and reacting in a supportive way. This kind of healthy interaction between individual child’s genes and the environmental context in which they develop would mean a good initial start. Moreover, chances of positive pathways in life seem to be enhanced by heredity vulnerabilities and complex behaviors.
However, little study has been undertaken on what long-term effects that a child is expected to have during his/her early years of life (Eyberg, Nelson & Boggs,
For my Personal Developmental Autobiography, I choose to talk about my journey through the adolescence developmental stage. The Adolescence Developmental Stage is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood. During this stage so many things happen. Puberty has already happened or is about to happen. Being interested in the opposite sex and going on dates happen.

I experienced working with children at a very young age. I assisted my mother teaching swim lessons to infants, toddlers and young children. The experience working with young children was very rewarding. I quickly realized teaching is not a one size fits all. During middle school and high school, I baby sat for families around the neighborhood.
My first day of Kindergarten was very hard. It was a huge shock for me. Up until I started school, I attended Little Busy Child Development Center. My grandmother owned the daycare, so i was always surrounded by family. On my first day of kindergarten my mom took me to school.
