We took control of the game very quickly and scored in the first three minutes of the game. I was playing right wing which allows me to play both offense and defense. As I was chasing down the ball, an opposing player kicked the ball full force into my face. It knocked me off my feet and I hit the ground hard. I was dazed for a second, but I jumped back up and got back in the game.
We were winning 5-3 and this was all a friendly match with all my friends and our team was currently on the defense, defending our goal. I was about to claim position of the ball to put my team on the attack but when I placed my left foot next to the ball I got shoved and when I placed my right foot to
Lexi works furiously to steal the ball away. As she succeeds two defenders approach her. She realizes she can’t take both of them on so she passes it to me, but before the ball reaches my feet a defender comes charging in front of me and the ball and hurdles me to the ground. I fall to the ground in pain and agony. As I sit there on the ground hugging my knee out of discomfort the ref blows the whistle and pauses the game.
I watched as the batter stepped up to the plate. My coach pitched the ball and BAM! The softball hit me right in the knee! My softball team had a tournament coming up for Minnesota schools.
One day five years ago my father asked me if I wanted to be the water boy for the Milton Hershey School football team. I said, “Yes”. So for three years I was the water boy. I once got cleated in the face. I had to sit down for a little, but then I sprang up as fast as a rabbit.
Somehow, two quarters in and we were losing terribly but I had to let my team with a horrible fall to my head. In the beginning, I was unaware of injury to my head so I kept on playing till I felt dizzy and knew something was wrong. Even after my terrible fall, I wanted
It was a hot Monday morning, a horrible day for any sort of athletic practice, however the football coaches thought it was the perfect weather. James frowned as he stepped out of the locker room. The air was sticky and he felt almost like he was trapped in a vacuum, it was hard to breath. The click clack of cleats on concrete signaled the exit of the rest of the team.
“A house is made of walls and beams… A home is made of love and dreams,” (William Arthur Ward). As teammates, we are brothers on that field, and we have to put everything out on that field together. We have to show love towards each other because without it; we will fall. We have to work together to see our dreams realized or we will be crushed.
What gets portrayed in the mind after hearing the word, Iran? All people living in Iran are Muslim. Iranians support all of the Islamic government’s actions. All Iranian women want to wear a veil. No one in Iran likes western culture and wants to end the spread of the culture.
Have you ever played tackle football if not this is a story of how I decided to play! First I was about 8 years old when I started to play flag football. It was so fun I wished I was in the NFL. I played flag football for 1 year I think that was one of the most fun years in my life. I was a center (which is the guy that snaps the ball to the quarter back)
It was a radiant day in March with just a little breeze, a perfect day to play soccer. The first half of the game was just coming to an end and I had played center midfield the entire match. My team was in the lead, and we were playing a compelling game. A fake left around the girl coming at me and a lofted pass to my teammate on the wing.
It was a hot July night. The softball game that had been scheduled, was cancelled because the other team was short 2 players. Right after the umpires called the game, the girls showed up. So, instead of completely wasting everyone's night, the coaches decided it would be a good idea to have a scrimmage. It would be good practice for everyone.
It was painful. I tried to cover my mistake but I couldn’t. I heard someone from the audience shout, “That girl stinks. Teach her how to march with everyone else!” I was so embarrassed when I fell.
With my speed I started dashing on the edge of the field all the way to side of the goal. I quickly evaded the defender and in the distance I heard “ Cross the Ball” said Player Number 1 . With all the force I possessed in me, I punted the ball to my teammate and with his strength he leaped to head the ball into the goal and scored the first goal! Everybody was celebrating, but we still knew that this wasn 't the end.
Adrenaline pulsing through my body and anxiety filling up in my stomach, I quickly throw on my football gear and head out to the practice field. It’s a nice hot day in Ocala, Florida, with the sun beating down on our necks, we stand side by side in line waiting to be picked to play second, third, or fourth string in a play. Waiting in anticipation, each of us grinding our teeth, watching first string pure athletes colliding against each other like gladiators to have possession of a ball made at one-time of “pig’s skin”. To some people, the game of American football makes no sense, whether it’s the idea of trying to protect a ball or running and passing it to make a goal for your team. People like this, see the concept of football and understand why millions of people love it; but to them the sport is pointless and causes way too many casualties.
