In the first place, loyalty has many definitions. On Google, the definition is “ the quality of being loyal to someone or something ” this is similar to the definition on dictionary.com “ the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations.” All of the definitions on the internet or in a hard copy dictionary all say the same thing, loyalty is being loyal to someone/something and committing to them fully.

When it comes down to evaluating short stories from two different authors it is ideal to bear in mind that the two stories will have varying strengths and weaknesses, mostly concerning the use of different literary elements, over the other one. For example, Ursula K. Le Guin 's “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” deals mostly with tone, point of view, and symbols. On the other hand Octavio Paz’s “My Life With The Wave” puts more emphasis on plot, characters, and individual scenes and events. As has been stated before both stories excel in different categories which make them strong in their own right, each particular strength and weakness will be looked at thoroughly in this essay.

Reading and absorbing this philosophy will give you a solid ground for what is expected from you and what you can expect from me. Rely on the Army values to help you make good decisions. In particular, remember the following values: • Integrity: Having integrity is, to me, one of the most important Army values. Having integrity means you do what is right even when no one else is around.
Eight years ago I walked into a Navy recruiter's office and said, " If I join today, when is the soonest I can go to boot camp? " I did not know what to expect.
