Richard Peters is the co-author of Voices from the Korean War: Personal Stories of American, Korean, and Chinese Soldiers. Along with co-author Xiao-Bing Li, they compile a collection of personal experiences during the Korean War. These personal accounts are told by American, North Korean, South Korean, and Chinese survivors of the war. Both Peters and Li are professors of history at the University of Central Oklahoma; Peters emeritus. While Professor Peters served in the Korean War with the Fifth Regimental Combat Team of the U.S. Army, Professor Li served in China's People Liberation Army.
In chapter 7 Luis goes to east LA to riot. He goes to riot about the Vietnam war because they don 't want to send more mexicans to the war. Things start to get violent and in a turn of events he gets arrested and taken to jail. He later gets released with no trial or questioning. Back at school he starts a walk off to protest better conditions for the students.

It was 1965 and the first U.S. troops were landing in South Vietnam, there were 3,500 U.S. Marines added to the already 25,000 advisers in the country. This war would define how we view life for decades and generations. Most people thought it was a mistaken war with no purpose other than to stop the flow of communism in Asia and the fear of others would follow, and add to the strength of the Soviet Union during the height of the cold war. Some people turned the war into a racist battle ground to justify the uprising and protest against the war. The troops were poorly armed and on average fought 240 days a year when compared to WW2 with only 40 days a year for infantrymen.
I am the soldier Jacob Raymond, who fought in the French and Indian War along with the American Revolution. Life in the colonies after the French and Indian War was wonderful until Britain passed the Proclamation of 1776. Parliament passed this law in order to stop us from moving west towards Quebec. This made it more difficult to farm and was starting to upset many of the colonists including myself. Next, the Sugar Act was passed in 1764.
The Voices Behind The Vietnam War The Vietnam War was previously one of the longest wars in history, causing chaos, terror, and tragedy to everyone. The war officially started in 1955 and ended long after in 1975. The war took place in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos and was fought between the communist forces of North Vietnam and the South Vietnam government. The U.S. gave its support to South Vietnam as it supported the anti-communist side of the war. This war marked a turning in not only American history but the history of the whole world.
Several individuals from different ethnicities, races, and citizenships, compose a society. The United Sates allow us to have a close interaction with numerous individuals from diverse backgrounds. In my own case I have been able to interact with many incredible individuals from all over the world who come from extremely different backgrounds. I am a proud Mexican who cherishes respect towards diversity. Coming from a very suffered country I am able to understand not only what does it means to feel proud to be a Latino, but also I can feel acquainted with the pain and struggle that our community has to face every day.
The main characters and Dak, Sera, and Riq. They are time travelers trying to set history right and their enemy is the SQ. They landed in Scotland during the middle of WWII and it was bombed by the Nazis and their associate they met in that time Duncan died in the air attack. Their SQuare broke in Scotland and Dak and Sera had to go back to the future to get while Riq stayed behind to get some info to get inside the war. Dak and Sera got the SQuare and accidentally brought Tilda an enemy trying to get things to go her way.
America’s involvement in the Vietnam War, essentially caused the country to split due to different points of view. Dr. King, on one hand, wanted and supported the retreat of American troops stationed in Vietnam. While President Johnson believed that America’s future relied on the outcome of the war, so he supported the troops being stationed there. Dr. King's speech aroused not only the idea of American Troops to be brought home, but also created the argument that America should not be involved in a war, for another country’s independence. Especially, when there is a great division continuing in our own country.
That’s when we got the call that air reinforcements were coming and told us to throw a smoke on the enemy position, but as soon they were about to tell us the color of the smoke, a grenade landed in the pit. Along with the radio an extra five people were critically devastated by the blast and half a dozen injured. I reached for my belt to find the smokes, but they weren’t there. All of us felt the same rushing chill down our spines. Panic.
Imagine being put into war with no consent fighting to live. That's what happened to Vietnam Soldiers. The Vietnam War was a war between North Vietnam and south Vietnam. North Vietnam was communists and the United States did not want communism to spread towards other countries. The U.S sent troops to help South Vietnam.

The American experience is not unfamiliar to me, I have been visiting America since I was a child and as a child I always wanted to move to America. My first visit here I fell in love with the culture specifically the freedom of expression. However the opportunity did not emerge for me to move to America legitimately and as promising young child, I did not want to damage my future by moving to a country illegally where I could not live to my full potential. I stayed in Jamaica and I completed my University education as a registered nurse and had become comfortable with my life in Jamaica. I started working the spring of 2013 and upon receival of my first paycheck, I was reminded that this is not the place I wanted to be.
The year was June 23rd, 1968. It was wet, mucky, and the air was filled with a thick sweat that seemed to never dissipate. We were in the middle of thick, green, tropical jungle in Saigon, Vietnam. Me and my friend Carlton were in a platoon of 6 other men. We were sitting there smoking our cigarettes and telling old stories of the good old days when were back in America.
