The Void
As the sky grew darker, and the day was coming to an end, John; a Senior in college, remembered that he had to get home and finish a project that was due the next day. Despite how much he wanted to stay out with his friends he decided to get in his car, and drive home. On his way home he began to have a weird feeling as though he was being followed. Although the street was empty he could not help but feel nervous, and proceeded to drive home as fast as he could. When he finally arrived at his home he noticed that all the lights in the neighborhood were off, almost as if everyone had gone off somewhere, the only light sources were his car, the moonlight, and one lone street light off in the distance. He walked up to the front door, took out his keys, unlocked it, and walked in. After locking the door, John walked to his room, changed into more comfortable attire, and sat down at his desk. After trying to work on his project for half an hour he gave up and went to his bed. After laying in bed for another half hour John began to get the feeling he was being watched again. The wind outside grew stronger and caused a tree branch to smack his window causing him to jump up from his bed. At this point John was freaking out and was too spooked to fall asleep in this quit night, so he tried to turn on the t.v. To his surprise it wouldn’t turn on so he decided to lay back down. As he was finally dozing off into his sleep he heard scratching coming from his closet. He attempted to ignore it , for he was too spooked to check what the noise was. It eventually subsided but then more noise began accumulate. The clothes began to rustle in his closet making more and more noise, and John became more and more frightened, he began to pray that this was all a dream and he would eventually wake up. Then suddenly the noise stopped, and John worked up the courage to stand up from his bed and slowly walk towards the closet , creeping up on the handle
