Personal Philosophy of Nursing Evelyn Adam's Theory of Conceptual Model in Nursing states that the goal of nursing is to "facilitates the patient's independence in meeting basic health needs" (Webber, 2015). To accomplish this, nurses must develop a therapeutic Nurse-Client relationship. This relationship is goal-directed and puts the client at the center of all nursing interventions. The way we interact with patients is shaped by our past, personalities, and individual experiences. Also, there are many challenges that influence the process of constructing a professional identity when moving from student to a Registered nurse. Some of the challenges includes the complexity of clinical practice and various ethical dilemmas surrounding nursing practice. As a soon to be a graduate nurse, I am aware of those challenges. In my professional outlook assignment, I wrote a poem about a client speaking directly to their nurse. In that poem, the patient describes the nurse as partner, altruist, modest, persevering, and as someone who uses multiple theories to put their patient at the center of every nursing intervention. I reiterated in that assignment that the goal of the nurse-patient relationship must be well defined and understood.
