“Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty” (Albert Einstein). To me, this quote says that all living things should be treated with respect. I believe that we should treat nature as we should treat others, with compassion. I achieve this when I am a part of a team. I take place in activities such as colorguard in my personal life. This is a sport that I am passionate about and performing gives me feelings of great pride. I like seeing my hard work pay off. Colorguard has taught me that the harder I work for something, the better the outcome will be. For the team to succeed you have to respect others. When I get older I would like to travel around the United states and experience the different areas. One main goal I have is to volunteer at an animal shelter. I want to do this because animals are very important to me. This means I am compassionate for other living creatures. This guides my values when it comes to the products I consume and buy. I try to buy brands that are cruelty-free and to consume smaller amounts of meat. This compassion also leads to my goal of wanting to major in biology, potentially focusing on environmental science. I want to learn about living organisms and how their environments work. This is very important to me because it will lead to my job. This relates to my life mission of wanting to treat the earth right. I want the education to know how I can best help the earth and its organisms. My goals, which I hope to complete, are oriented towards my life
