Personally, sport has a great impact on my own life and I owe many thanks to sports. Ever since I was little, I was always involved in some sport or another. The people I've met through sports have led me to new experiences, new lifestyles and new opportunities. There are many factors that contributed to my love of sports. Some of the factors are my dad, my older cousin, and the town I grew up in. I think all the factors made me the person that I am today and they are also the reason I chose to pursue a degree in Sport Management. Probably the biggest contributor to my love of sports is my dad. My dad was very well known for his skills on the field. He played college baseball. At a very young age he introduced me to sports. Ever since I could remember my dad has always been on the ball field coaching some type of sport and I was right out there by his side. He was very competitive and that rubbed off on me. I wanted to be the best at everything I did. At the age of 4 I got to play my first sport competitively which was baseball. Since I was exposed at a very young age I was a lot more advanced than the other kids my age. I enjoyed playing baseball and I played all the way through high school. But my first love was football. Sports were really big in the town I grew up in. Growing up in this town you were somewhat expected to play sports. If you didn’t play a sport you were an outcast. We looked up to the high school players as if they were NFL players. All the younger kids wanted to be just like them. I just remember going to those games on Friday nights. The atmosphere was amazing. I just couldn’t wait until it was my time to play. And when I was older and became a football player for my high school I understood that the kids were looking up to me.
